Welcome to “The Grove at Ryans Rest”.
Our second Tiny House Farm Stay is a space to RECONNECT with loved ones, the land and with nature as you are immersed in a regenerative agricultural system that is all connected as one living, breathing ecosystem.
A place to RECHARGE and RETREAT, close your eyes, breathe in, smell the fresh air, sweet soil, lemon blossom and surrounding forests.
To RE EXAMINE, RE AWAKEN and RESET a vital biological connection with the earth through our land and our food.
The space
Our Tiny House on Wheels is very well equipped, with an upstairs queen bed complete with opening skylight and views over our lemon orchard - fitted with high quality French linen bedding. There is a full bathroom (think Belgium linen waffle towels), composting toilet, hot and cold running water, full kitchen with medium sized refrigerator/freezer, oven, microwave, two burner hot plate as well as reverse cycle air conditioning.
A Weber hooded BARBEQUE is provided on our spacious outdoor patio, with dining area and outdoor beanbag lounging space.
There is Bocce, Cornhole, and Finska OUTDOOR GAMES to partake in. A lovely three kilometre WALKING TRAIL is marked for you - incorporating river, lake, farm, orchard and bush sections. The infamous Munda Biddi Bike Trail is also just 500 metres from The Grove, as is the Warren Blackwood Stock Route. Access to Lake Janis is provided for swimming, fishing, canoeing and stand-up paddle boarding - with all equipment supplied for you.
Our incredible WOOD FIRED OUTDOOR BATH is a work of art in itself. Indulge in a candlelit soak, (complete with bath salts) under the stars.
The outdoor FIRE PIT area has westerly views over the valley and is a fabulous space to partake in the final golden hour of the day and into the night.
Warren Valley Farm is a working potato, cattle and citrus farm. Although we are not certified organic, we manage the farm using natural systems and operate under a regenerative farming model. We harvest different products year round and love to connect people to their food and further develop an understanding of where and how food is produced. Please let us know if you would like a FARM TOUR of the the property to share ideas about food production, landscape management, sustainability and the natural systems that we use.
Other things to note
The listed rate is for TWO guests utilising ONE bed. Please book for three guests - if requiring the second bed for two guests that are not sharing a bed. (This helps us with the additional cleaning and linen costs...thank you.)
Telstra, Vodafone and Optus are limited to one or two bars reception onsite. (Adequate to message or call, however downloading data may be difficult)
We have an upstairs queen bed and an additional queen **sofa bed down stairs - which will need to be set up and down daily due to space restrictions in the living area.
**This is quite a firm sofa bed and probably more suitable for children - or those that don’t mind a firm mattress.
The Grove at Ryans Rest is situated on the perimeter of our lemon grove and is located on a working farm. The orchard is not currently a viable operation, hence NO HARVESTING IS OCCURRING at this point in time. However there may be livestock movements and the odd vehicle or tractor passing through. We do try our absolute best not to disturb our guests.
Unfortunately we cannot allow pets at this location.
We do ask that our guests stay on the perimeter of our lemon grove due to biosecurity risks. There are lovely hiking trails marked in surrounding areas.
There is approximately 3 kilometres of unsealed road which may contain potholes or corrugations at certain times of the year. It is two wheel drive access however. Please drive to the conditions.
The outdoor wood fired bath is filled with untreated (although double filtered) water from Lake Janis and does contain some tannins.
Our homestead is located 700m away, although The Grove is discretely tucked away behind a grove of trees.
As this is a working farm, there are animals which are not fully domesticated.
All rainwater supplied to The Grove comes from our personal rainwater tank. A conservative approach to our potable water is required - particularly over the summer months.
There is a small dam and deep water located 50 metres from your accommodation.
The nearest supermarket is 20 minutes away.
