Wake up to the fresh sea air and views of Mt Wellington from this cozy one-bedroom, self-contained cottage. Just a short flat stroll to Kingston Beach and local cafés, Whimsy Cottage is the perfect couples base for exploring Hobart, Bruny Island and the Huon Valley 🐚 enjoy the magical outdoor bath tucked away with the vines.

The space
The self-contained cottage has its own private entry through French doors at the front. The driveway is shared with us, and our family home is at the back of the property. While the cottage is attached to the main house, it is fully self-contained with soundproofing between the walls. Guests enjoy their own private space, and any household sounds are minimal.

You may occasionally see us coming and going or hear our children at play, but we’re mindful of keeping things quiet for our guests, and past visitors have found it no problem at all, even describing it as blissful hearing children.

The cottage is also close to the local oval and the much-loved Salty Dog Restaurant, known for live music on Sunday afternoons, outdoor area, amazing food and great vibes. Depending on the season, you might catch the atmosphere of a sports game or hear music drifting over - a touch of local life that adds to the charm, without disturbing your stay.

Guest access
There’s a key box for easy self check-in. Parking is available either on the street or in the shared driveway directly in front of the cottage. Additional parking is also available near the oval if you prefer. We kindly ask that you avoid parking in front of our neighbours’ houses, as those spaces are reserved for their use.

Other things to note
The cottage includes a full kitchen which is stocked with all the essentials including tea and coffee, a toaster, kettle, microwave, oven, cooktop, fridge, cutlery and crockery and basic condiments.

Breakfast essentials are provided including yoghurt and milk.

There is a spacious living room with a smart TV and Netflix, queen sized bedroom with an ensuite, a washing machine and reliable wifi available.
