Where you’ll be

Kingman, Arizona, United States

It was the view that first made me buy this home on Fort Beale Drive, in Clack Canyon, Kingman AZ. Little did I know about the area’s history, plethora of outdoor activities, AZ weather and abundant wildlife!
We get daily visits of Cottontail rabbits, Jackrabbits, Gambel quails, deer and coyotes can often be heard howling in the distance. Very cute!

In 1857, Navy Lt. Edward Beale, a topographical engineer, was tasked to find a route to the Pacific along the 35th Parallel. This expedition is what established an official wagon trail that most pioneers used on their way to the Gold rush. The only historically preserved “trace” left of the wagons’ journey West is located here in Kingman, AZ just 1.5miles East of our location. Every other part of that trail has been taken over by either the Railroad, Route 66 and/or Interstate 40. Fort Beale was later established less than a mile away to the West. It was because of the abundance of water in this area, that Lewis Kingman chose to have the Railroad come through here. The City is named after him.
There is a lot of history in this area including the legend of the Kingman/Canyon Station Stagecoach robbery, which allegedly took place in this very Clack Canyon, of which the treasure was supposedly never recovered.

Activities you will enjoy right out the door here include hikes in the Camp Beale Loop and Camp Beale Springs trails. There is also some notable rock climbing nearby as well as the well-known area of Monolith Gardens for hiking and Mountain biking, All part of BLM’s Cerbat Foothills Recreational Area.

Just 2.5miles away, in downtown Kingman, you will find yourself in the heart of Historic Route 66 with several museums, the Railroad station, Mr.D’z Classic diner and more…
Kingman is also home to a couple of breweries and wineries!
5 miles away is Kingman Turquoise. Worth the visit!
15 miles to the East is Mohave county’s Hualapai Mountain Park. Great hikes and incredible views from the near 8000ft elevation.
18 miles to the north, the old mining town of Chloride.
Just 30 miles to the West on Route 66 will be the very charming Ghost Town of Oatman, AZ.
32 miles away, Bullhead City and Laughlin, NV give you access to the Colorado river and Casinos.
As your circle grows wider, within an hour’s drive you can enjoy
to the North: Willow Beach, Grand Canyon West, Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, a Joshua Tree forest and more.
To the East along Route 66: Hackberry’s General Store, Keepers of the Wild, Peach Springs where you can book a Grand Canyon Whitewater rafting trip with the Hualapai River Runners, Hualapai Hilltop trailhead to Havasu Falls, Grand Canyon Caverns and Seligman, AZ (another notable Route 66 stop)

Las Vegas is 90 minutes to the North.

At about 2+ hours you will access the Grand Canyon National Park’s South Rim, Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott, Meteor Crater and more.

Phoenix is 3 hours from Kingman.

In this Airbnb you will find yourself in a very quiet and secluded environment, yet only a couple of miles to town and everything you need. This charming, newly remodeled 450 sq. ft. apartment is detached from the main house. It will accommodate up to 4 people with a queen size bed and a pull-out sofa. It is equipped with a kitchenette corner that includes a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker for your convenience.
This apartment is wheelchair accessible.
As you can see in the pictures, we are surrounded by “million-dollar” views and you are welcome to enjoy the patio and backyard.
I hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you here very soon!
