Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
A secluded and intimate luxury escape inspired by the need to live smaller and more sustainably, Monterey is an eco-friendly off-grid tiny house nestled amongst 35 acres of native forest offering guests the perfect opportunity to explore nature, unwind and recharge. Built from salvaged Monterey Cypress timber, the house offers a dreamy king sized bed downstairs with floor to ceiling windows. Explore the surrounding forest and wildflowers and immerse yourself in the sounds of nature.

The space
Enjoy the secluded tiny house with your partner, family, friends or a solo getaway. Monterey has been thoughtfully designed for a comfortable, relaxing and memorable stay.

Monterey is situated near the village of Blampied, 15 minutes from Daylesford, 30 minutes to Ballarat and just over an hours drive from Melbourne.

A dreamy king sized bed by the floor to ceiling windows will be prepared for couples and the double bed in the upstairs loft will be made up for non-couples or bookings of 3-4 people. Quality pillows, bed linen and doonas for supreme comfort and warmth in winter.

A walk in shower with rain bird shower head and floor to ceiling window will be a highlight. Flush toilet, quality king bath towels and SEED Organics shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand foam are provided.

The well equipped kitchen includes a 2 burner gas cooktop, mini fridge, toaster and kettle. The Nectre wood stove also offers a convenient bakers oven. Crockery, cutlery, glassware, saucepans and frypans are also provided.

The comfortable couch, breakfast bar, outdoor chairs on the deck and stumps by the fire pit (May-October) allow for guests choices of where to relax. The romance of the wood heater is always a favourite spot to sit near. Firewood is provided for the duration of your stay. The Bluetooth sound system is for your entertainment.

Breakfast provisions are provided of local bread, eggs, milk, juice, tea, coffee, jams and muesli. Plus a complimentary bottle of Captains Creek organic wine.

Guest access
Monterey Eco Stay is fully self contained and guests are welcome to explore on foot the surrounding 35 acres of bush land.

Other things to note
Our Tiny House is entirely off-grid with power supplied by solar panels on the roof and a lithium battery. We request that you are mindful of your energy use during your stay and turn off lights and appliances when not required.
Under no circumstances are high energy using appliances to be used including but not limited to portable air conditioners, electric heaters, air fryers, etc.

The king sized bed by the floor to ceiling windows will be the only bed prepared for couples whilst the double bed in the upstairs loft will be made up for non-couples staying or bookings of 3-4 people.

Please note that during the summer fire restriction period (declared bushfire season) usually from November to mid April, the outdoor fire pit will be removed as outdoor fires are not permitted to be used. Because Monterey is set in a high fire risk area, we may extend the period without a fire pit until local conditions are safe enough to allow outdoor fires.

The Captains Creek cellar door, just a few kilometres away at 120 Kangaroo Hills Road, Blampied, offers take away wines and ciders, selection of regional beers, Goldfields Farmhouse cheeses, salamis, prosciutto and chorizo from local Istra Smallgoods plus various other local produce.

Open on weekends between 11-5. Visits during the week may be available by contacting Carolyn or Doug.
