It is a great location and lovely interior decor but it is COLD, the heating source is limited, only one fireplace, three portable oil heaters and half the beds have electric blankets. Effectively in winter there is only one bathroom as the other is an outdoor bathroom. Too expensive for what you get.

Response from Stephanie:
Thanks for your feedback Suzan. The electric blankets have been fitted to all beds, as you know we went out to purchase those and we are looking into a solution for the heating of the house. As it is heritage listed this presents challenges but we are endeavoring to find a solution. We appreciate your thoughts and do take all suggestions/feedback on board Regards Lisa

We stayed here for two night in the middle of winter with some family from WA. The house is quite large and in a reasonable location and I suspect it's a lovely place to stay in the warmer months. We found the house cold and draughty and difficult to keep warm. The kitchen was also not very well equipped for a family to be cooking meals each night. So if you want to eat out and stay in the warmer months then this would be a great house for that.

Everything we needed was available at the cottage for a great 4 night stay. Instructions for check in were clear which meant it was without issue. The cottage provided a perfect base for two couples to relax, explore, and enjoy the regional produce and the autumn colours. The location of the cottage enabled very easy access to the rail trail and the warm wood fire and provided videos at night, led to a hassle free and comfortable stay.

A bit on the small side for groups with more than 2 adults and 2 (very) young children. Road noise is a problem. Very quiet town but well positioned for access to beechworth and other local centers. Still had a great time though!
