Unique Swiss experience when you see goats pass through a town twice daily. Comfortable, very well equipped, beautiful location in a tiny, yet authentic alpine village with only 70 habitants.

The space
Chalet in Hinterrhein (1624 m over sea level, Grisons). Space for 1 up to 8 persons. Children seats and beds available. Nice hiking and cross-country skiing possibilities starting in front of the chalet.

1 Room for 2 People (2 beds), 1 Room for 3 people (1 double beds, 1 single bed), 1 room with french bed (for 1 person). Possibility to adding the couch for 2 additional persons. Children up to 4 years free of charge. Children seats available, also children bed.

Roomy kitchen and living room. 2 toilets and 2 shower rooms, parking area, food store and little Restaurant.

Breakfast for a small amount (about CHF 12.-/person) possible.

The Village "Hinterrhein"
Nice little village in the Swiss mountains, 80 inhabitants: Hinterrhein is a nice place to start tours by walking or biking summer and winter time. Ski areas Splügen and San Bernardino reachable in 8 minutes.

No shopping centers in town except several products from the farmers like milk, eggs, cheese and dried meet). Bigger stores in Nufenen (4km ) and Splügen or San Bernardino (7-10km)

Nice alp panorama, wild water rivers, lakes, wild animals, lot of museums and history.

Distances: Chur 35-40min, Lugano/Locarno 1 hour. By train a few minutes more.

Hinterrhein, Grisons, Switzerland

We have (only one) small restaurant (on demand) in the village (called "Bachhuus-Chäller from Christine & Johann Egger). Hinterrhein has no shops. Next shopping for food etc. in Nufenen (4 km), Splügen or San Bernardino. Sports shop in Splügen and San Bernardino (also rental)

Enjoy wild nature, hiking, biking, snow sports at its finest, a lot of snow usually beginning form mid december (1600 above sea level, not far to Milano (2h) or Zurich (2h).

Hinterrhein is a very small village with only 70 people.

Hiking: You can every time enjoy a small walk or also longer distance, starting in front of your house. For example, just walk in direction to the mountains (you will see the yellow signed routes with white-red-white striped signes in direction "Nufenen" and/or "Vals") - this means "mountain hikes" - good shoes recommended…

If you like, you can rent bikes or skis in Splügen (Splügen Sport) and do some cross country or skiing.

In Splügen and San Bernardino, ther are ski areas and cross country, as well as ice fields and tennis. In San Bernardino, you have a nice rope/cable path.

In Andeer (15min from Hinterrhein) you have a thermal pool / wellness.

In "Roffla" and "Viamala" you can visit the canyons - very very impressive (both for a small fee or, outside the official routes, free ;)

In Zillis, you have a very impressive Church "St. Martin" (15min from Hinterrhein). The ceiling is covered with countless paintings.

Further on, you have always the possibility to go Shopping in Thusis, Chur, Bellinzona, Milano (2 hours) or Zurich.
