Guest access
The Fettler's Cottage is easy to find, we are tucked just off the New England highway in the village of Glen Aplin, about 10 minutes drive south of Stanthorpe. We have a lock box for easy access to keys, and have spare keys inside the house for multiple guests. We also provide the electric buzzers for the garage doors inside the cottage.

There is room for two cars inside the garage and space for one more car on the driveway. There is also plenty of parking at the front of the cottage on the grass or you can park alongside the house on the grass via the other gate.

Please be vigilant when coming in and out of the property as the corner heading out to Mt Stirling is quite sharp, cars and sometimes trucks going to local farms can sometimes come around quite quickly.

Surrounding The Fettlers Cottage there are some great local businesses within a short 10 km radius of you. There are three wineries a short 2 minute drive away along Mt Stirling Rd, Mountview Wines, The Art of Krupinski and Jester Hill. Brass Monkey Brewery is 5 minutes drive down Stabiles Rd. The famous Jamworks is 2 minutes further along the New England highway. The township of Ballandean with its local store, pub, all of its wineries is a 10 minute drive south. Girraween National Park and all of the beautiful walks that it contains are about a 20 min drive south.

You are in the true heart of the Granite Belt Wine district!

Other things to note

From the host

Glen Aplin is a rural locale on Kambuwal country with a history going back thousands of years. White settlement began in the tin mining (and whisky drinking) days of the 1880's. The servo is the local shop and post office and good for quick supplies for bread and milk but it is only 10 minutes drive or taxi to the cute Ballandean General Store or into the town of Stanthorpe. Yestergear Antiques is across the road and The Ugg Lady is down the road. Keep heading up Mt Stirling Road over the bridge and you will hit 3 wineries within spitting distance. The Severn River is about 500m away. Locals don’t mind you taking a wonder around our little township and are very friendly so wave back or stop for a country chat. Remember you are on country time now so put the phone away and relax!
