El Chiclero Inn is a quaint hotel in the village of Burrell Boom. It resides about 10 miles east of the international airport. You will need to rent a car or take a taxi to get there.

The space

This is my parents hotel, I am posting it for them:
This quaint inn sits in the village of Burrell Boom in Central Belize. It is just 30 minutes from the Caribbean Sea, 11 miles from the International airport and 18 miles from downtown Belize City. El Chiclero Inn is within walking distance to the historic Belize Old River and minutes from the Baboon Sanctuary, Mayan Ruins (Altun Ha) and the jungles of the western portion of Belize.

Burrell Boom, a tranquil riverside community on the historic Belize River, provides a popular swimming and picnic area for locals and a busy marketplace for cruise ship and other visitors. Located approximately 20 minutes north of the Belize international airport, villagers maintain a peaceful coexistence with the vastly unspoiled natural eco-friendly environment.
The village has become famous for its assortment of fruit wines and preserves all made from organic ingredients. Villagers and tourists stop by for special tastes of the newly distilled wines and to relax. Also found in Burrell Boom are multi-colored species of tropical birds and the black howler monkeys that inhabit the riverbanks of the countryside.
Just down the road are the popular tourist destinations of Community Baboon Sanctuary of Bermudian Landing, Big Falls, Double Head Cabbage, Flowers Bank, Isabella Bank, St. Paul's Bank, Scotland Halfmoon and Willows Bank in the heart of the Belize River Valley. Altun Ha, the ruins of an ancient Maya city in Belize, is also just a short drive south of the village.

The hotel rooms are bright and airy, with air conditioning, TVs, private tiled bathrooms with walk-in shower and a breezy veranda.

The hotel no longer serves food but there are plenty of local eating establishments within walking and driving distance from the hotel.

Belize adds 9% hotel tax at check in time that will be paid directly to the inn on day of check in.

Interaction with guests

My parents no longer live at the hotel due to medical concerns but our hotel manager will take care of all your needs.

Other things to note

Belize adds 9% hotel tax at check in time that will be paid directly to the inn on day of check in.

Very nice place - a good, quiet location to serve as a base for exploring Belize! Consuela, the manager, was very kind and happy to make breakfast for us each morning. She does not know a lot about various sightseeing destinations, however, so be sure to have your trip planned using other sources. The room was very clean, and the AC was a welcome addition. Thank you for having us!

We absolutely loved our stay at El Chiclero Inn! It is located in an area of Belize that is easily accessible to the main highways, so easy to get to the many things to see and do on the mainland, and all of this is if you rent a car (HIGHLY recommended). We were welcomed warmly and greeted each morning when we woke up for breakfast (which was made for us for a small price each morning and TOTALLY worth it), and greeted in the evening when we returned from a day of activities. Great Wi-Fi, air-conditioned rooms, comfortable beds, spacious rooms and in a very chill area and near a few small grocery stores. It was an overall wonderful visit! We cannot wait to visit again.

This place is a hidden gem! The area is rural and everyone is so welcoming. Very authentic experience. The ladies at the inn were so friendly and incredible. You have to have breakfast there in the morning. Home cooked and delicious! There seemed to be a little miscommunication between the property owner and the women at the inn but all went smoothly. Definitely somewhere to stay if you want an authentic Belize experience out of the touristy areas. Thank you for the hospitality!

We arrived late (after dark) and found the hotel to be completely locked up and closed down. There was a sign on the front door with phone numbers. Being that we didn't have a phone in this country (relying on Internet) we went to the store across the street where a friendly shop owner called the number for us. A lady came and met us at the hotel shortly. Somewhere along the line between daphne, her parents and the hotel manager our arrival had been lost. Sadly The Internet was down all over town so there was no internet. Though the main floor of the hotel is completely shut down (furniture piled up, pool empty) the room was nice and clean and the air con was good. The lady who greeted us made us breakfast the next morning for $24blz.

Close to the airport, nice to stay overnight out of Belize City, before heading out to other destinations in Belize. Burrell Boom is a very quiet area, not much available in the way of food, but the market is right across the street. The staff who were there to greet us were very pleasant and offered to have breakfast for us in the morning, for an additional cost, but it was nice not to have to seek out a place for breakfast. Accomodations were basic but clean. The AC was adequate but I am not sure it would suffice in the warmer season. It was interesting to picture what this hotel was like in its heyday.

I am a young forty something professional woman who works hard at my career, therefore I have to get up and out the door early in the morning. I ride horses (own a few) and race sailboats on the weekends. My mother, my 25 year old nephew and I reside in this wonderful house along with my dog Bailey. Bailey is a 50 lbs friendly pit mix that is in the house most of the time. But don't worry. She has great reviews and she loves Airbnb guests so be ready for some dog kisses.

I love cooking, camping, my horse activities and sailing!
