If you are looking for a quiet retreat close to Lake Crackenback, The Ski Tube, Thredbo and Jindabyne then you have found it.
The Nest is on 100 acres of natural bushland on the Crackenback Ridge above Lake Crackenback. It is only 3-minute drive from the apartment to the Ski Tube and Lake Crackenback, less than 20 minutes to Thredbo and 15 minutes to Jindabyne.
The Nest is a compact, modern, 1 bedroom apartment with luxurious alpine decor. The living area has a cosy wood fire and wood is supplied for your stay. The bathroom floor is heated and there is a full kitchen with a dishwasher and a large fridge if you are staying for a while.
The apartment is in a large house but it has private access and its own courtyard area with a BBQ and outdoor seating to enjoy the afternoon sun. There is level access for people with mobility issues and the apartment has outdoor parking in front.
Wildlife frequently comes by early in the morning with Wallabies, Echidna, Wombats and occasional visits from Emu. You will also have visits from the resident dogs Dexter and Iggy who are friendly and fun.
The Nest is secluded and in a private location. The parking is right outside. There is a laundry available that is shared with the house. There is no access available to the house or the lawn area to the north and east of the house.
The driveway to the house is about 800m long and is gravel. Due to the high altitude in this location, the driveway can have snow on it, particularly in winter and early spring. For this reason, an all-wheel drive vehicle with good tyres is recommended.
There may be occasions during heavy snowfalls when the driveway is inaccessible and you have to walk into the property. For this reason, wintertime guests should be physically capable of walking up a steep driveway on snow.
Jill and Leah live in the main house and will usually be available to assist with any questions and minor maintenance issues. You can contact them on the phone number provided in the apartment.
Location
The Nest at Eagles Eyrie is a cosy 1 bedroom apartment high on the ridge above Lake Crackenback Resort. Located 5 minutes drive from the Ski Tube for wintertime access to Perisher Blue. Only 17 Minutes drive to Thredbo for Summer Season Biking and hiking and Snow Season Skiing and Snowboarding.
3 minutes drive to Lake Crackenback for restaurants and MTB Trails and 3 minutes to The Wild Brumby Distillery and Crackenback Farm restaurant. Only 10-minute drive to Jindabyne.

The gravel driveway to the Nest at Eagles Eyrie is 800m long. In very heavy snow it may be better to park at the bottom of the driveway and call the house for a lift. This does not happen often. If it does happen during your stay we will do our best to assist.
While there is a small fire pit in the courtyard of the apartment, wood is not supplied for that. However, there is plenty of easily accessible wood in the surrounding bushland. Please do not light this fire when there are fire restrictions in place.
