Cookie’s Cabin is the perfect base to explore Salisbury's medieval city centre, Stonehenge, Old Sarum, Bath and the New Forest.

It takes 15 mins to walk to the Cathedral, which Bill Bryson said in his book 'Notes from a Small Island' was the most beautiful structure in England.

In 5 minutes you can walk to the town path, past the 15th century Old Mill pub by ancient water meadows, where Constable painted the Cathedral, with stunning views that are thought to be some of the finest in England.

The space
**** We have a very meticulous approach to cleaning Cookie's Cabin to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests *****

Over the years we have travelled extensively, for both work and leisure and have stayed in many delightful places, and some we would rather forget.

With Cookie’s Cabin we set out to create a real ‘home from home’ experience - a place we would be happy to stay in ourselves.

It was designed to be as comfortable for a business traveller wanting a change from bland, impersonal hotels, or a visitor to Salisbury looking for a more authentic local experience.

Here are the highlights…..

To start with - it's a new and very comfortable double bed/mattress with new, luxurious 300/400 thread count cotton bedding, which is very soft and inviting, essential for a good nights sleep.

There is a dedicated 400MB super fast broadband line, a 40 inch Smart TV with a full cable package, including all of the big sports channels, movies, Netflix and Amazon prime subscriptions.

Alternatively, you can relax to your favourite music and ask Alexa to play one of 75 million songs, set your morning alarm or even play an 80’s music quiz!

Breakfast consists of a choice of 4 cereals and porridge, bread from a local bakery, pastries, jams and marmalades. We also have a special reserve of Coco pops for those lovers of chocolate milk....

Our welcome basket has fresh fruit, a range of biscuits and chocolates, we have an emergency set of rations including Singapore chicken noodles and Mexican spicy rice sachets for hungry late arrivals.

There is plentiful supply of freshly ground coffee with a cafetiere, teabags, hot chocolate and fresh milk. (we can provide a dairy free alternative)

There is free off road parking spot and prior to your arrival you will be sent a code to an electronic lockbox with a key to your own front door, so you can come and go as you please.

Cookies Cabin is bright and airy with a vaulted ceiling, plenty of natural light and solar powered blackout blinds for both Velux windows. The double glazing and underfloor heating will keep you warm on those chilly nights and crisp, frosty mornings.

Next to both bed side tables are double sockets each with 2 USB points to charge phones, tablets, cameras etc and in the draws you will find a hairdryer, spare face masks and hand sanitiser.

Adorning the walls is a series of original colour drawings of Venice from the 1950's presented to my Grandfather who was a merchant sea Captain and regular visitor to the City.

There is a rack/hooks to hang your hat/clothes after a long day sightseeing and the breakfast / work space is a drop leaf extendable table with comfortable chairs and 2 double sockets with 4 USB ports.

The new stainless steel kitchenette unit has hot and cold water, sink, double ceramic hob, microwave and full size fridge with a small freezer compartment.

We provide kitchen essentials such mugs, large/small plates and bowls, cutlery, sharp knives, pots and pans, wine and G&T glasses, bottle/can opener and chopping board.

You are most welcome to help yourself to fresh herbs such as Chives, Sage, Rosemary, Mint, Basil and Thyme which are literally just outside the door to the cabin.

The bathroom has an electric power shower and heated towel rail and there is a range of quality toiletries products including your own bar of organic soap and bottle of shampoo and conditioner.

Each guest will be provided with a fresh Egyptian cotton bath and hand towel, along with a flannel.

There is a large patio area with a broad range of beautiful plants and flowers with plenty of comfortable seating to take advantage of the sun throughout the day - with a great views of Salisbury Cathedral in the background.

Upon request, guests can use the Esse outdoor garden stove with a hotplate and a grill for fantastic wood fired cooking at its best, or in stove mode to keep toasty on cooler summer evenings.

Whilst there is no smoking in the cabin we do provide an ashtray so you can have a fag on the patio!

Where you’ll be

Wiltshire, England, United Kingdom

We live in Harnham, which is a suburb close to Salisbury city centre. Our house/cabin sits in between All Saints Church (c1854) and St Georges Church (c1115) and is less than a minutes walk to the local park and cricket pitch which sits beautifully next to the river Avon overlooking the Cathedral.

We live on the road that leads to the local cattle market and auction rooms, Salisbury race course, South Wilts golf course and an excellent garden centre.

This means at certain times of day traffic can be quite heavy and there is some road noise.

There are some fabulous places to visit, to eat and drink - with some local gems that most tourists don’t know about.

Please note - if you want to visit Salisbury Cathedral you might be better to book in advance.
