La Petite Ecurie (1758) is a renovated gite in what was once the stables. It sleeps 4 in two bedrooms both with ensuite, and has all a holiday maker needs : a cook's kitchen, a private terrace, access to the salt water pool, and a chance to unwind.

The space

Care to spend a week or two in a building, formerly stables that has been transformed into a self-contained cottage. With two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with twin single beds, each bedroom has access to ensuite bathroom facilities.
In summer the stone walls keep the house cool, but in winter wile away the frosty evenings in front of the wood-burning fire, a favourite CD playing while something delicious bubbles away in the oven. In summer there is a private terrace with outdoor tables and chairs and a BBQ. Access the shared salt water pool or stroll through the garden. You can even ask the owners to part with a freshly laid egg from the 4 chickens, or a vine ripened tomato and some basil from the potager.

Guest access

Guests have complete access to all outdoor areas but have exclusive access to their private terrace/garden with umbrella and outdoor barbecue. The pool is shared with guests from the bed and breakfast. Guests can also opt to dine at L'Impasse du Temple and sample some of Lee-anne's cooking.
A welcome pack is on hand in case guests arrive too late for a supermarket run, and the holiday cottage is provided with extensive tourist information, with brochures and maps to accompany this.

Interaction with guests

Guests are welcomed by John or Lee-anne on arrival. They are given a brief but thorough walk through the indoor and outdoor accommodation. John and Lee-anne if not always on site can be contacted by mobile phone.

Other things to note

The village of Leran offers a perfect example of French rural village life. The chateau of Leran looms over the surroundings. The village has a vibrant bar/restaurant, a depot for bread, visiting butcher, vegetable and fish vans, a post office and hairdresser. The Lac de Leran is within an easy walk.

What a wonderful place to spend your holidays! We couldn't have made a better choice. La Petite Ecurie was lovely, clean, and very well equipped. Our children enjoyed the pool and, of course, chatting with John.. We will definitely come back next summer.
