101 High Street is an original heritage sandstone cottage nestled in front of the beautiful Callington Mill & Distillery. This property is a classic example of a beautifully maintained heritage home in the southern midlands and encourages you to pull in, light the fire and make yourself at home. Beautiful furnishings and interiors throughout that entice you to really take a breath and embrace the countryside and village you're surrounded by.
The space
This sandstone cottage is a classic heritage property with fresh updates throughout including ducted heating, an updated bathroom and open plan kitchen/living area.
The original house plays host to the gorgeous bedrooms and snug sitting room that are toasty warm with a wood heater that provides ducted heating into each room but in the summer months you're kept refreshingly cool by the sandstone walls that surround you in the old cottage. 101 encourages you to seek out any number of seats or corners throughout the house and have a moment or two to yourself.
The master bedroom is a king bed and the second bedroom is a beautiful wrought iron double bed. All beds are flanked in beautiful soft bedding and mattress toppers that will provide you an exceptional nights sleep. The bathroom has had a modern update with a large shower, lavatory and hand basin - we provide Salus body wash, shampoo & conditioner and towels.
The newly appointed kitchen has all the amenities you need to be self sufficient and we provide a pantry of tea & coffee, pasta, muesli, olive oil, salt & pepper. As a small token of thanks we offer a complimentary bottle of Bellebonne Sparkling Rosé and a block of Tassie made Kenyak milk chocolate. The open plan kitchen & dining area has an additional sofa and television with complimentary high speed internet and there is a booster which you will need to join (all instructions provided in the house manual) in the old part of the cottage so you can easily work from home or catch up on some smart TV throughout the property.
The exterior is flanked in equal parts by expansive lawn and historic sandstone walls. Throw open the french doors from the kitchen onto the back lawn and drink in the stunning Callington Mill & Distillery which is merely a jump over the back fence.
101 has old building creaks and quirks and we celebrate the layer upon layers of old paint edges, endless marks and scars on the floorboards or doorways - these are the stories the old darling has to tell. We have merely enhanced her charm with fresh paint and modern day comforts like soft new beds, indulgent sitting rooms to retreat and soft linen curtains hugging the light drifting through the old windows that are like eyes into this old soul.
