Luxury, boutique accommodation in Battery Point, the historic heart of Hobart, Tasmania. Fusilier Cottage is an iconic 1838 colonial cottage, with a stunning contemporary architect-designed extension.
The cottage sleeps six, in four comfortable bedrooms with a spacious living area opening to the garden. There is a well-equipped kitchen, a wood-panelled dining room, luxury bathroom, discreet laundry, underfloor heating and wood fire. There is also Wifi, a smart TV, Sonos sound system and parking

The space
Fusilier Cottage is a charming bluestone and sandstone Georgian house. The cottage was built with convict labour around 1838; and, in 2018 the current owners commissioned a contemporary extension that would result in a thoroughly modern home that would respect the history and Tasmanian context of the heritage cottage.
The cottage has four bedrooms. The two ground floor bedrooms both have double beds - one a king-size and the other a queen size. Upstairs, two cosy dormer rooms are furnished with king-single beds (120 cm wide). Furnishings have been selected for comfort and style.
The living area is a spacious glass-walled living area that opens directly onto the contemporary cottage garden. There are views across Kelly street to the waterfront and distant hills.
A well-equipped kitchen features a brass bench, Siemens refrigerator, freezer, induction stovetop and intelligent oven, toaster and jug; all the crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils needed to cook a great meal.
The main bathroom features a luxury white-stoned bath, walk-in shower and brass fittings. A second, shared bathroom includes a railing and shower seat for disabled guests. Hairdryer, towels, snuggly throws and bathrobes.
The wood-panelled dining room features a beautiful timber dining table and seating for six.
There is a discreet laundry with a washing machine and dryer.
Thermostat controlled hydronic floor heating and complementary wood fire. Wifi throughout, smart TV, and Sonos sound system.
The property is superbly furnished with Tasmanian art, antiques and artisanal furniture.
Included in each booking is a bottle of Tasmanian sparkling, Tasmanian cheese & crackers, a packet of Tasmanian Shortbread, quality tea and coffee, milk and sugar.

I have worked in the tourism industry for over 30 years including time in Europe and the USA. I travel extensively for work and pleasure. My properties suit the needs of the business or leisure and reflect my love of travel and art with many books and original art works. I like people to feel comfortable, welcome and want for nothing when they stay at one of my places. I know all the best of Tasmania as I have promoted it to the domestic and international travel industry for years. I like to think people that stay with me will recommend my place to their friends & families as word of mouth is a powerful form of promotion. Hope you choose to come and stay. Thank you :)
