The space
This modern house displays a lifetime’s collection of art pieces which provide a continuous range of things to admire. From every room, there are wondrous mountain and valley views with rural life surrounding the area.
Outside the garden flows from color-coordinated areas to the backyard and beyond. There are areas of cottage garden, vegetables, native areas, fruit and nut trees, conifers, azaleas, camellias, and rhododendrons as well as attempted areas of semitropical trees such as Illawarra Flame Tree, New South Wales Christmas Bush, Avacado, Guava, Fejoia, Jacaranda and more.

Guest access
Guests are free to wander the garden, sit on the decks and take in the view, drink real coffee in the living room, in the garden or on the deck with the cats, observe the Guinea Fowl, feed the chooks, or just vegetate with a book in the large open space living area. The bedroom is completely private, and the rest of the home is yours to share.

Guests are free to be be part of the family or to quietly keep to themselves.The host is happy to provide information where possible and to help make the stay memorable. Breakfast is provided .

Other things to note
Eggs from our own chooks and coffee from the coffee machine are available free with breakfast. Other meals can be purchased if ordered in advance. Garden produce will be used when available and dietary restrictions followed.

Neighbourhood highlights

Huonville is at the doorstep for most services and shopping. Franklin, Judbury, and Cygnet have interesting Sunday markets at different weekends each month. You can drive to the Tahune Air Walk, Hastings Caves, Geeveston, the Wooden Boat Centre, Dover, Southport, and Cockle Creek. The Palais Theatre in Franklin has a monthly film night where you can take a plate and meet locals in a shared supper meal. Country drives nearby reveal craftspeople opening their studios for visitors, wineries, orchards, little gems of restaurants, and eating and drinking venues with cider and wine tastings. You can also find honesty box apple, pear, cherry, and other produce stalls. Visits to the Channel and Bruny Island can be included from here. Small churches with friendly congregations are scattered through the area. The Huon River with its reflections and the rural surroundings is a photographer's paradise.
