Placed in the heart of Jirisan(Mt.), Bamsagol, Snail Hanok Guesthouse, is a cozy, traditional ‘ㄱ’ shape homestay accommodation, designed and built by the host. The property has 3 ‘Ondol’ rooms and a kitchen, a toilet with shower booth, and a cool wooden-floor style hall. All rooms have a floor-based heating system, Ondol(Gudeul), which makes frigid winters warm enough. The unique traditional house is also specially designed for summer with a cool, light, and airy wooden-floor style hall and big front yard.

currently, we are under construction for new building in this area. So the place will be little mess, noisy during the day, even dangerous to kids.

There’s lots of interesting things to do that you’ve never done before like making your own tea leafs, splitting a chunk of firewood, preparing some traditional Korean food, and having fun with fascinating sewing crafts. Ask to the hostess if you are interested. There are instruments to play with such as jembe, guitar, and Korean drum

A walk around Jirisan(Mt.) or old paths, climbing Jiri Mountain are another suggestions that you can enjoy. With just a 10-minutes walk from the guesthouse, you can find a temple, Silsangsa of the Silla Dynasty. Within 20 minutes, a local bus will take you to a fun-to-play ‘Bamsagol’ valley and Nogodan Peak in Jiri Mountain

A village café, Todag, is in walking distance where many cultural programs are to experience. And a village tour can be arranged with the village tour assistance, listening stories of the village while walking.

If any, we always welcome your questions for tourist attractions, facilities, and anything during your stay.

Each room can accommodate up to 4 guests. You might share a room with other guests if necessary and be asked beforehand. Have a fun with other guests and make new friends with open mind.

The Snail Hanok Guesthouse is a home for us. We started to share our house for many requests from our friends after they visited us and enjoyed our rural village and Korean traditional housing ‘Hanok’. Since then many wonderful guests visited us and shared stories for the stay. Facebook page and Instagram are open for the stories you make here with us. We are happy to share our house and stories with you.

How to get to the guesthouse
