This villa, situated on a beautiful beach on the Petite Côte, offers pure peace and tranquility.
Offering full shade and full sun, in the different areas of garden and terraces, you can relax, sunbathe, read, eat and enjoy the best of outdoor living throughout the day and benefit from spectacular views of sunset over sea in the evenings.

The space
The room has it's own entrance, so you can feel completely independent.
Cosy and welcoming this villa is perfectly situated in a quiet neighbourhood, 5 minutes walk to the supermarket, shops and delicious bakery. Equidistant to the nightlife of Saly, the nature reserves at the lagoon in Somone and the exotic birds in Nguerine, this is the perfect holiday for all.
Leaving the house will be difficult though, because the immediate access to the beach provides the watersports, spa and children's play in the neighbouring Lamentin Beach resort.
Evening sport and football on the beach with the locals and the beach bar and restaurant with nightly fires to take in the evening beach ambiance with occasional live music. There is no need to go anywhere....
Alternatively, the main road has regular shared taxis, so you are only minutes away from local transport when you need it.
The 2nd room in the photos is also available, in a separate listing, should you come with family or friends.

Where you’ll be

Saly, Thiès, Senegal

The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful, but close to everything.

It is a beautiful place to walk the beach early in the morning and come back to breakfast on the terrace or in the garden.

The wonderful bakery is only minutes away. You can also eat there from the menu or at the restaurant opposite.

You will also find a bank, with ATM, Visa, hairdressers, massage, beautiful book store, shopping, 24hr pharmacy, supermarket with European products and a French run medical clinic. You can check it out online 'Saly Centre'. You can find all you need so don't worry about the item you forgot to put in your suitcase.

10 mins to the nature reserves of exotic birds, now with a good restaurant in a beautiful setting. 15 mins to the lagoon at Somone with boat trips to see the mangroves full of emigrating birds that fly down the coast of Senegal.

Spend the day eating oysters and drinking wine by the lagoon, then cross over to relax on the other side at the various beach restaurants and nap in a hammock.

If you're into some sport, there is also a gym only a few minutes away and paddle too. You can go fishing in a pirogue straight from the beach and in the right season, find yourself surrounded by pelicans. There is also jet ski and surfing. The karting track is next to the supermarket, up the road and in Saly, 5 minutes away is the golf course. There is also a wonderful horse riding centre 5 minutes away, where you organise rides by callesh or go horse riding on the beach. During the holidays, they offer daily activities for children aswell.

A 30 minute drive will take you to the Baobab forest where you can go high up for zip lining and an exhilarating rope course through these magnificent trees. There are activities for all ages and a new lake offering water fun for the family.

There is also the wildlife park at Bandia, where you can experience safari 4 wheel drive adventure and see the animals in their natural habitat.

Worth a visit is large fish market in Mbour where 100s of pirogues come and go during the day. The market expands out to include fabrics, clothes, art and everything else that you can imagine.

Liquers de Warang is a garden setting where you can taste home made liqueurs made from local fruits.

15 minutes away there are bogolan workshops, for those interested in authentic fabric dyeing techniques, enjoyable for all ages.

Art and theatre workshops for children and Salsa for adults.

Day trips include Lac Rose, Bandia reserve wildlife park and the lion sanctuary, where you can get up close to cubs.

I teach English and there are small groups of children that come to the house for workshops a few afternoons a week. They are lovely kids and guests enjoy, sometimes getting involved with the fun!
