Casa Madera is the ideal space for a quiet getaway, surf retreat or much needed family time. The best way to start your day is from our rooftop with a cup or coffee and watching the whales breech. Enjoying a perfect Margarita while grilling at the barbecue makes your sunset view even more spectacular. Relax around the unique, charming pool or take a very short walk to the only swimmable beach in the area. This one bedroom offers the indoor outdoor space you need to make your holiday pure bliss.

The space
This updated and comfortable one bedroom condo offers every amenity needed for a holiday while still enjoying the comforts of home. Located steps away from the only safe and swimmable beach, Playa los Cerritos, as well as, a walk-in circular pool surrounding an 800 year old cactus is only steps from your condo. You get the experience of staying in a manicured resort community, while still having your off the beaten path adventure in Baja Mexico!! WIFI is unlimited and reliable and you will easily be able to work remotely in this home away from home.

Uniquely this condo has a full barn door partition so the bedroom can be completely separated from the living space. Use the full kitchen to prepare a meal, sit back and relax to a large TV on the comfy couch after a day in the sun, or watch endless sunsets on the rooftop. Casa Madera is family friendly!!! This condo is one of the few rented second story units in phase one of Puesta del Sol. Casa Madera has a king size bed, pull out queen bed and one full bathroom.

Casa Madera is located in the Puesta del Sol phase 1 complex. We are situated in southern Baja on the Pacific side, situated between La Paz and San Jose del Cabo, Cerritos Beach is the perfect surf/beach getaway in any season, while Cabo is only an hour drive away if you still want that night on the town.

We do work hard to manage expectations when booking a trip to Cerritos and surrounding areas. We love our guests to have this understanding before arrival, which helps turn on the 'go with the flow' attitude this area demands.

Cerritos, Pescadero and surrounding areas are considered RURAL Mexico. Infrastructure and certain amenities are still developing in many ways. Electricity is fairly new to this area (within the last 3 years), so there are times of power outages, while becoming more and more rare, it is worth mentioning. Many systems are only on solar and are not tied into the power grid in any way, solely relying on sunny days. Cerritos is fully dependent on water being trucked in from the local aquifers. It is always important to conserve water, and if water does go out, let the PM know and we will get a truck in to fill the cistern. Driving at night is dangerous due to cows on the road or cars without headlights (not banditos!) Please go slow. Most roads off the main highway are dirt and all roads in the area have potholes with lots of bumps. Most roads do not have street names, and houses do not have addresses. You must rely on the maps provided and do a little research of your own. Baja midnight is considered 9:00pm, and expect many businesses to close at this time. Buildings typically leak during rains, and water can come under doors depending on the amount of rain. We are in the desert with many new human inhabitants, therefore, the natives do make appearances. We attempt to mitigate this as much as possible, but please do not be surprised if you see a mouse or two, flies and gnats (bobos), ants, scorpions, or a rare snake. This area is considered safe, but we do still have petty theft. Please lock electronics and valuables in safes or locked cabinets when you are not home. We recommend trip insurance as unfortunately we cannot refund for weather or rural Mexico related incidents.

You will have a binder in the condo upon arrival with many local recommendations and maps.

To note: This unit was listed in the past as a rental; however, we switched rental companies as of February 2021 so had to create a new airbnb site. You will not see any reviews for this reason. Please reach out if you would like more specific information about the owners, the property managers, or the unit so you feel more at ease with your booking.
