The space
The beauty of this cottage and its setting will become apparent as soon as you look around to find a perfect spot to relax and read a book. The comfy lounge, window seat, outdoor couches or soft beds are just some of your options. Or lie back on the sun-lounges on your own front lawn, or wander over to the gazebo with views of Witta and the valley.
Choose from a large range of fiction and non-fiction books, board games, chess, badminton, bocce or art therapy colouring in books if you're in need of an activity. Or play the piano ... it's yours to use. Alternatively, watch Netflix or livestream tv, choose one of literally hundreds of DVDs , or simply listen to the birds.
The kitchen features a toaster, kettle, Nespresso machine, stove and oven and medium sized fridge/freezer. The basics are all provided, including tea, coffee pods, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, spices, salt and pepper - while not large, all the kitchen facilities you require for a getaway are available.
In wintertime, warm yourselves up and enjoy the comforting ambience of our new Lopi gas fireplace. Alternatively, sit around our fire pit (BYO firewood) at the rear of the cottage and enjoy the uninterrupted view of stars. In summer, let the cool Hinterland breeze refresh you, or turn on our beautiful new timber fans.
WARNING: Our beautiful cottage is located in the country. Therefore, you may see and hear many different forms of wildlife during the day and night. Examples include; possums, wallabies, bandicoots, tawny frogmouths and black cockatoos just to name a few.
Guest access
We welcome you to use the lawn in front of the cottage, as well as the gazebo. Please do not walk down the steps towards the dam, as this is our personal and private garden - attached to our own residence.
While normally not available, should you need to do some washing, we are happy to share our stand-alone (separate building) laundry with you - just ask and it wont be a problem.
Other things to note
There are lovely breezes to take advantage of, so we recommend opening doors and windows during the day. Please close these in the early evening as we do not have flyscreens as we want to take advantage of unobstructed views. Our fans and air-conditioning are an excellent alternative to increase airflow and comfort during the night.
P E T S:
We love all animals and have tried to make the garden around our beautiful cottage a haven for the native wildlife and now enjoy a visit from a family of wallabies on most days, as well as many birds.
We have now made the cottage available to guests with DOGS under 10Kg ONLY. Sorry, no larger dogs or cats for the reasons stipulated below.
A $65 pet fee is applicable (maximum of 2 dogs each under 10kg).
Airbnb hosts have to choose whether to be "Pet Friendly" or not. However, Airbnb does not specify what qualifies as a "pet." For example, we know someone that has a pet pig and we would definitely not accept a pet pig in our cottage!!
WHY NO CATS:
We have some family members with cat allergies.
WHEN STAYING WITH YOUR DOG:
Our property is not fenced, but the verandah does have gates. We therefore require that you secure your pet on the verandah by keeping the gates closed. Should you wish to take them into the yard/garden, we require that they are kept on a lead. Do not leave your pet unattended at the cottage when you go out for the day - explore our beautiful local area with your fur baby.
When packing for your stay, don't forget to pack your dog's bed, food and water bowl so that they feel right at home.
We ask that you don't allow your pets onto our beds or lounges in the cottage.
Please also pick up your dog's poop from the garden and dispose of it in an appropriate place.
