This original 1872 Worker's Cottage features 3 bedrooms, modern kitchen, front and back verandahs. Loads of character backing onto 6 heavily forested acres.
Watch the sunset from the front verandah in the evening, enjoy an outdoor bonfire as you watch the sunset, catch yabbies in the dam (when there's water) or try a tricky hike up the rocky rainforest gully to the seasonal waterfall (no path).

The space

Lovely little cottage in the bush, rainforest gully to explore with a seasonal waterfall (only in wet season), pets are ok. 20 min drive to beaches at Coolum, 30 min to Noosa and 10 min to Eumundi with it's famous markets. Yandina train station and shops only 5 minutes away. Only just over an hour north of Brisbane, not far off Bruce highway. A great pitstop if you're travelling the East Coast of Australia. Incredible birdlife around the house. Peaceful and relaxing.

The whole house. 3 bedrooms, lounge, fully equipped eat-in kitchen with dishwasher & expresso machine, bathroom and laundry with washer. Verandahs, front & back, some herbs in the garden for your use. Free tranquility!

Interaction with guests

We will meet you to exchange keys, but other than that, it's all yours.

Other things to note

There is no undercover car parking available and there is a steep walk up from the parking area to the house. The house is semi-eco friendly, it is solar powered with gas hot water, stove and oven. It's on the Land for Wildlife register, and we have been slowly battling weeds and replanting native trees all over the 6 acres.

Felt like home from the moment we stepped in the door. Easily our favourite country retreat. It was a a breath of fresh air in many ways from the views, to making our own little fire with mellows and waking up to wild life at the door step. Perfect way to unwind. Close to town with lots to do in the area. We will be back multiple times to refresh ourselves again:)

Beautiful cottage for the perfect girls’ weekend away! Comfortable beds and so scenic. Easy to drive to the beach. Loved it! Thank you for the thoughtful touches too.

Denise and Stan have renovated a cute miners cottage close to the township of Yandina. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the sheets nice and crisp. Loved the white linen and bath towels. And they left extra of these just in case we needed to change sheets or towels during out six day stay. The location was perfect as we wanted to explore both the hinterland and beaches. Communication with our hosts was seamless. They also had a few goodies waiting for us (wine and chocolate) which was a generous thing to do. There is a great IGA (grocery shop) in Yandina and we enjoyed lunch at the Spirit House (which is less than a five minute drive from the cottage). We also popped into the Yandina Pub (because it looked so classic) for a glass of wine and saw folk enjoying nice counter meals. Thanks Denise and Stan.

Private and secluded, could play some music late into the night and not have any worries about neighbours. IGA 10min away if needed, otherwise not close to anything but we wanted to get away and it was perfect. Hosts are great and communication was easy. Will definitely be back!

Hi, I am Denise, I'm a silversmith and Stan is a window cleaner and a silversmith as well. We have two adult children who live in Brisbane and we have called Sunshine Coast home since 1988. We love to travel and have had stints living in Scotland and Mexico. We enjoy the coast lifestyle, Stan surfs, we both enjoy fishing, walking our dog Ardi, good food, friends and family.
