Located on Millionaire’s Row, just 3 blocks from Hannibal’s thriving Main Street, the Admiral Fuqua House is an authentically “Hannibal experience”. This Italianate style mansion built in 1879 is still graced with its original wood mouldings, stone hearths and twisting grand staircase. If you seek to experience an authentic historic home in "America's Hometown" - this is it! This home has been lived in and loved by families for over 140 years. Staying here offers the traveler in search of history a uniquely clear connection to Hannibal's past, its place in time and to the local culture.

The home is comfortably and thoughtfully furnished - a blend of old world beauty, antiques, fine art and modern conveniences. Its well-stocked 1980s kitchen has everything you need to make and serve wonderful meals, and is located next to a private large backyard.

Upstairs bedrooms (4) are spacious, with carefully selected period furnishings, new plush mattresses, and comfortable fine bedding. It is the former home of Admiral Samuel Fuqua who received the Congressional Medal of Honor for his heroic actions aboard the SS Arizona during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Also 2 blocks away from Mark Twain's boyhood home, the Mississippi River and the many amenities of downtown Hannibal, the scene of many weekend events. Lots of local shops and local color! Great parks and open spaces are nearby, and opportunities for outdoor recreation. Visit the famous bat caves day or night! The area is filled with natural beauty ready for exploration!

You will see that Hannibal is revitalizing with many homes under renovation, a new waterfront and new stores on its vibrant Main Street. Your hosts Anneliesa and Jim are part of this movement, with four completed renovation projects and more underway.
