Berry Hill is a pet friendly restored heritage listed home on 75acres of private land, flanked by the Hawkesbury River with private beach. Take one of our kayaks out on the river, finish with a wood fired sauna. Drinks on the hill for sunset around the fire pit. We have hammocks by the river under the trees, a pizza oven for gatherings in the front garden, luxurious beds in the restored heritage house. Berry Hill is the perfect place to unwind by the river with a group of friends or family.
The space
Berry Hill:
Nestled on the banks of the Hawkesbury River lies Berry Hill, a 75-acre oasis just ninety minutes from Sydney.
Located in stunning Darug country, this hidden gem of the region is a multi-purpose property with river views and undisturbed wilderness in all directions.
Boasting two kilometres of private river frontage and flanked by an impressive sandstone escarpment, Berry Hill provides the ideal backdrop for a stay to remember. Berry Hill accommodates up to 14 people across a beautifully restored 188-year-old heritage homestead and our bespoke, modern-fitted shed suites. Welcome!
The Homestead:
Effortlessly fusing antique, rustic and modern influences, our lovingly restored heritage homestead oozes with understated luxury. With a grand wraparound veranda overlooking the rolling hills and river, our vision was to lift the homestead into the modern era while maintaining its original and welcoming charm.
The oversized master bedroom features a king-sized bed, massive walk-in wardrobe and views directly down to the river - plus a modern-fitted ensuite with a walk-in rain shower and luxurious, deep bathtub. The second bedroom consists of a queen-sized bed and ensuite, with a third bedroom featuring twin beds and two additional wheel-out trundles, if required.
The common spaces of the homestead feature a country-style kitchen with gas stove, oven and dishwasher, plus two generous-sized living areas, working fireplace and ample dining space all bathed in light and with views out to the property, the river and surrounds. Step out onto the veranda (from any of the rooms) and find additional seating, an outdoor dining set and a BBQ for your use. The homestead is the heartbeat of Berry Hill.
The Shed Suites:
Our classic Australian tractor shed, lovingly converted into three contemporary suites. Each can be a king or twin configuration.
Clean, modern interiors play off a charming rustic exterior, with each room featuring wall to wall bifold doors and expansive river views. The shed suites are a unique all encompassing experience hard to find elsewhere. They feature private balcony with relaxing chairs, super king beds, luxurious linen, tea & coffee facilities, rain shower in the en-suite bathrooms.
Additional accommodation:
Berry Hill has additional high-quality glamping tents to accommodate additional guests over and above 14 for an additional fee. Fully furnished and featuring king-sized or twin spring-mattress beds, please get in touch if you would be interested in increasing the size of your party staying at Berry Hill.
The Property:
Berry Hill is situated on a sprawling 75-acre property, all of which is yours to explore at your leisure throughout your stay.
Relax and recharge on our private beach directly in front of the house. Watch the sun set over the escarpment. Refresh with a tree-lined stroll around the water's edge. At the edge of the property there is a secluded trail to explore deeper into the natural surrounds and nearby you’ll find stunning views of the Hawkesbury River.
Berry Hill also features a fire pit, pizza oven, tree house, wood fired sauna, barrel hot tub, private bush walks and our own beach. There is plenty of space for outdoor activities and games such as golf, archery, lawn games, painting, kite sailing, nature spotting, mountain biking and more!
We are a 15 minute drive from the historic township known as Wisemans ferry. The drive is a wonderful meandering road that flanks the river and the town has a grocery store, petrol station, country pub, cafe, medical centre and bottle shop.
The property can also accommodate numerous cars with parking on site in our 3 designated car park areas.
Guest access
Guests will have near complete and private access to the property throughout their stay.
We do ask that guests refrain from entering the wedding marquee, glamping tents and the amenities block reserved for larger events. An additional cleaning fee will apply for guests who breach this request.
