I had a wonderful time at Hugh and Louette's place. They were very helpful and welcoming. Hugh kindly picked me up from the airport, which I really appreciated as I arrived late in the evening. He also showed me where I needed to get to the next morning for my conference. The fridge and fruit bowl were stocked with enough for breakfast for my entire stay - and the supermarket was close by too. The apartment was beautifully appointed, comfortable and quiet. I enjoyed relaxing on the sunny terrace to recover from my jet lag. The apartment is very close to UCT, and it's not far into town via car / taxi. Highly recommended.

The apartment is beautifully situated in a quiet neighbourhood with great restaurants and shops within safe walking distance. we went down for the Two Oceans Marathon and i was 2km walk from the start and 500m from the finish, so the setting was perfect. The unit was clean and comfortable and the hosts are very friendly and accommodating.

From the second we booked this AirBnB, Hugh and Louetta were generous with their advice -- when asked -- and their time, including picking me up from a late-night flight arrival to, for one of our days in Cape Town, providing a personal tour of the peninsula that both took us to spots not on the public tour and allowed us to spend the time we wanted at each stop. The flat was just as advertised -- enough space for some privacy within the setup, cat in the garden, hosts just next door and available, but also skilled at reading when you want privacy, very secure with a gated entrance and security system. While it's located in a fairly residential area outside of downtown Cape Town, it was incredibly easy to get places via Uber. We ended up going out for most meals, but it was great to have the option to cook inhouse and not race out first thing in the morning to look for coffee and breakfast. The flat was stocked with eggs, bread, fresh fruit and a beautifully molded butter, and Hugh took us to a place to pick up other supplies the first day. While we were renting the place via AirBnB, I left feeling a bit like we were family.

Ah this place is a dream to stay at. Hugh and his wife are sweethearts, they've thought of everything you could need and have an answer for any questions that pop up. They are as generous and caring as can be, helping us with a doctor's visit and sight seeing recommendations during our stay. Communication is top notch making for a very relaxing time in Capetown. Thanks for having us by!

First and foremost, Hugh and Louette are the most wonderful hosts and are warm and interesting people. Their home is beautiful and comfortable, including a lovely garden where we breakfasted with Hugh and Louette one morning. We cannot recommend this lovely house highly enough and, when next in Cape Town, look forward to staying again with the Fynn family.

Hugh User ProfileHugh is a superhost.

We are a friendly married couple. Both have been in education most of our lives, Louette a music teacher and Hugh geography and physical education and then a head teacher. Now retired, Hugh is a qualified tourist guide, keen hiker, restorative justice practitioner and an education consultant in Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. I love a wide range of sports, am interested in history, read quite widely and am energised by people. I have been fortunate in having traveled extensively in Europe, Australia, Southern and Central Africa, and limited parts of the USA and Asia.
