Meathop is a lovely hamlet in the Lake District National Park. A five minute drive from Grange over Sands, a lovely Edwardian town with some unique Independent shops. The Yews sits on a quiet lane, with woods either side, wonderful to hear birds singing.
The Woodlands hotel is also a short walk through the woods, which is a ideal for a drink or food.
There is off road parking ample for several cars on the drive.
Being a dog owner myself, I am happy to have guests staying with dogs over 1yr.

The space
The large garden with woodlands behind is perfect to sit out after a hard days walking. You can listen to the birds ( we get owls at night or just take in the silence. There is an outdoor seating area set up to enjoy a glass of wine

The area is perfect if you have dogs, as literally 10 seconds and you are in the woods for a quick morning stroll or last walk of the day at night. I am very happy to accommodate guests with up to 2 dogs (over 1 year old, sorry no puppies) and can provide hard dog beds in the downstairs room if needed.

Where you’ll be

Meathop, England, United Kingdom

There are great local walks near Meathop - Hampsfell where walkers are rewarded with fantastic views over Morecambe Bay. Fell Foot Park at the southern tip of Windermere hires boats, SUP boards, kayaks or one can even have a swim. There is also a short, but good climb up Gummers How, which has a fantastic view point of Windermere at the top.
There are some lovely local pubs and cafes in Grange and some wonderful independent shops. Cartmel is only a 10 minute drive away, which boasts two Michelin star restaurants.
