The space

Enjoy the casual elegance of a STUGA, a traditional Scandinavian summer house, on the shore of a northern Adirondack lake.

This Swedish word for cottage dates back to the early nineteenth century. It was relative commonplace for Swedish families in urban areas to own modest cottages in rural parts of the country. The Stuga is defined by countryside leisure near woods and water. Modern sources maintain that nearly 50% of the Swedish population enjoys access to a Stuga.

Litengard on the Lake has provided for many Stuga-filled summers over the years. This stuga is a tribute to the owner's Scandinavian heritage. Throughout the years the modest cottage has provided leisure and relaxation to family and friends. Favorite daytime activities include swimming, sunbathing, kayaking, canoeing, fishing and hiking. The nighttime transition brings about cookouts, board games, reading and campfires.

Litengard invites you to create your own personal Stuga experience!

Our family really enjoyed the house. It was both relaxing and a fun place to be -- the lake/river is all of action -- jet-skis, boats, waterskiing. The kids loved it.
