Welcome to the Horse Prairie Stage Stop! We're a rustic, old western, historic restaurant, old time saloon and hotel located on the beautiful infamous "Horse Prairie" along the Lewis and Clark Trail. You're staying at a great hunting and fishing lodge that sits in the middle of real Montana cowboy country. Try our highly raved about local dry aged beef rib eye steaks during your visit! Surrounded by amazing expansive Montana ranches, you can enjoy the beef from the very fields you're viewing!
The space
The Warrior Room is a small little room right next to our good old time cowboy saloon in our Hunting/Fishing Lodge. It was actually built so that Veteran’s that are purple heart recipients can literally wheel themselves in their chair from the bar just around the corner and crash into a comfortable bed when ever they choose. Many cheap travelers looking for a “Motel 6” type stop off should NOT use this cheap room as we are off the beaten path and sometimes though we close at 10, the hunters or cowboys like to hoop it up and stay for a couple extra rounds. Not a good fit for you!! But if you don’t mind joining in for a round and possibly learning about the place and people you’re surrounded by in Montana, Cowboy country out on the Prairie and being up for another hour or two on a Friday or Saturday night, after a world class rib eye, this might be your room!! SEMPER FI!!
Outside of your room, all guests can access our front lounge, library and peruse the rich history hanging from our walls and antique appliances and items featured throughout the old building. We have a small open, country style kitchen where you're welcome to watch the staff work on your meal...or you can warm up next to the 2nd largest hand set stone fire place in the state of Montana in our cowboy saloon! Enjoy a game of pool in the saloon and a local craft beer, icy cold direct from the Beaverhead brewery while waiting for one of our many signature half pound local Angus burgers! Our menu offers plenty to appeal to every pallet; Monster burritos, nachos, steaks and burgers! This is as good as it gets! You're literally dinning on the beef that were grazing in the fields you drove past before pulling into our lodge. WE DO ONLY OUR LOCAL RANCH MONTANA BEEF!! AND ITS AS GOOD AS IT GETS!! Our local cowboys and cowgirls offer genuine Montana hospitality and are readily available to discuss all the local area has to offer. You're literally in the midst of elk hunting paradise and endless opportunities to view an abundance of wildlife in many settings just minutes from our door.
