Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
A 24 hectare (approx 75 acre) home and rural property located on the iconic Snowy River and with views to the mountains. This property is 15 mins drive from Jindabyne township and 20 mins drive to the Kosciusko National Park.

We have two luxury safari tents for you to choose from. The Mary Kingsley is set high on the property with sweeping views of the mountains and river, and this tent; the Isabella Bird is nestled down on the riverbank.

The space
Tent: The Isabella Bird

Please note, this is a retreat for 1-2 adult guests only. We do not cater to children or pets.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE BOOKING:
Access to the property is on 3 kilometers of private dirt road; livestock, kangaroos, deer, and other wildlife regularly share this road.
The road is 2WD accessible to the bulk of the property but the last 150 meters to the tent is a little rough and a 4WD/AWD is recommended.

We provide a quality off-grid eco-tourist glamping experience in a sustainable setting for people to reconnect with the ones they love and recharge their body and soul through nature.

Your tent has a queen bed with linen and bath towels provided. Your tent also has its own verandah, lounge, and outdoor bath.

We are 100% off grid but have a solar system sufficient to supply power to make your camping experience a luxury stay.

At your tent there is:
Private shower with hot water and a composting toilet
Gas heater inside for cold nights and a gas patio heater for outside
BBQ, gas top stove and pizza oven
Microwave
Dishwasher
Coffee machine, kettle, toaster
Kitchen supplies (cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, tea towels , washing up liquid)
kitchen pantry basics (tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, oil, tomato sauce, foil, paper towel)
Mid sized fridge & freeze, and esky (BYO ice for the esky)

Running water is supplied however you may choose to bring drinking water (we happily drink the local water however others may prefer filtered drinking water)
Sheltered weather resistant kitchen/lounging area
Camp chairs, torches, and picnic blankets provided
Fire pit is available but subject to Rural Fire Service restrictions of use during bushfire season.

There is no wifi and there is limited mobile reception, which is perfect for disconnecting. We recommend bringing a good book etc, but we also provide some games such as backgammon, uno, and connect 4.

The river area is a shared space.
There is an all weather lounge and dining area in this space for you to relax by the water.
You can swim in the river and kayaks and airmats are provided for use on the property also.
We do ask people not to fish in this section of the river as there are platypus, and the water is shallow in spots - lost lures in bare feet is a quick way to ruin a day. But you are welcome to walk up and downstream to find more fishing holes.

Guest access
You have your own 5x5 meter square luxury safari tent with a queen sized bed, lounge, kitchenette and verandah. You also have an outdoor bath tub, private shower and composting toilet. The Snowy River is approximately 50 meters from your space.

Other things to note
Please note, this is a retreat for 1-2 guests only. We do not cater to children or pets.

I run a ski and snowboard shop in the Snowy Mtns of Australia. We provide glamping on our 30ha property on the Snowy River so we can share our home with you. I love skiing & the outdoors & believe travel makes us better global citizens, & understanding other cultures makes us better humans. I’m usually travelling with my hubby, he’s the outgoing & funny one of the two of us but I’m heaps better looking & a much better driver than he is.
