The space

3 story cottage built in 1770. In a World heritage site to preserve the legacy of it's ties to the industrial revolution.

Stunning scenery with views from the house and patio. Great local walks including the Chevin, an old Roman road, which can be seen from the house itself.

A 20 minute drive to Cromford, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, and 45 minute drive to Chatsworth a House and Gardens. The Peak District can easy be accessed from the house via the A6 which runs nearby. One of our local pubs, The Holly Bush, is a 16th century hostelry which serves a range of real ales from jugs.

If you are a city person, Derby is a 20 minute bus ride away and Nottingham 45 minutes. There are 2 local train stations which can take you via Nottingham and Derby to anywhere in the UK.

My home is ideally suited to anyone who would like to explore the Peak District, a beautiful National Park, with something for everyone.

Whilst I am happy to host, I would also be happy to let out the whole house for a family.

I am a social media junkie, so communication is not going to be a problem! I will be happy to give any advice or tips where needed but equally recognise that this is your break so I will keep a respectful distance. Should you wish to rent the whole house, I will be here to welcome you.
I have travelled the world independently and have friends in many countries. I look forward to meeting you!

Milford is a beautiful place to live with something for everyone. See guest access section for more information.

This was our second stay in the house and it was great like our first stay. This time we had a lovely meal at Angelo's Italian restaurant, a four-minute walk down the road.

Penelope’s house is a great place well placed easy to get to and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Her house was exactly as outlined and she communicated in a timely and informative manner.

A wonderful cottage full of character in a beautiful location. The bed could do with being a bit softer but that is only my personal preference. Otherwise everything exactly as the ad. Penelope was most helpful in answering any questions had prior to arrival.

A pure gem. The cottage was built in the late 1700's for mill workers and whilst those folks probably had a hard life their legacy is a charming dwelling overlooking the Derwent valley. Of course it was built a long time before personal transport was available to all so the entir…

I rented the cottage while I was at a training course for the weekend and found it to be just what I wanted. It's an AirBnB in the classic sense, very much someone's home and situated in a typical terrace of tiny mill houses clinging to a steep hillside overlooking the valley. …
