Your sunny private loft in a historic corner store. Close to downtown, near the best taprooms, cafes and restaurants. In the heart of the Northeast Mpls Arts District. Large yard, private deck, fresh coffee, walk to all the breweries. Welcome!

**PERFECT home for the 2018 Super Bowl. We're exactly 3 miles from US Bank Stadium. Football fans, this is your spot!**

The space

Welcome to Northeast Minneapolis! You'll be staying in your own private apartment -- the entire second level of what used to be a corner grocery store. Built in 1902, the space is unique, comfortable, and filled with thoughtful touches, yet retains its historic and charming character. Located near downtown, the U of M, and the Mississippi river. Enjoy the spacious, open layout, take advantage of the beautiful private backyard, and explore the neighborhood!

Upon arrival, you can let yourself in with the keypad lock -- we'll provide the code when you book. Head up the stairs, and you'll be right inside the open and light-filled living room, where there's a large sofa, chaise lounge, and our handmade coffee/end tables. In the adjoining den, there is a desk, a sofa, and a flat screen TV with cable, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. The bedroom is small but cozy, with plenty of room to hang up your clothes, and a super comfortable queen-sized memory-foam mattress with lots of pillows and a down comforter. There are bedside tables with lamps and outlets for your phones.

In the mornings, brew some locally roasted coffee beans or tea (we provide both) in the sunny kitchen, which has everything you need to cook up a storm -- convection oven and gas range, large fridge, pots/pans/utensils/dishes, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster, plenty of counter space, good knives, and a concrete rolling island. Have breakfast outside on the deck among the treetops overlooking the large, wildflower-filled private backyard, where, later in the day, you might decide to have a barbecue, or to sit around the fire pit on a starry night with a drink.

The apartment will sleep five people, but is most comfortable with two or three. In addition to the main bed, we provide an 18" high, auto-inflate air mattress with its own linens and comforter, which is comfortable and sleeps two people. There is a very comfortable sofa, too.

Your host, Pete, lives on the property, and is typically close by whenever you might need anything! I'm always happy to meet and spend time giving you a tour, or recommendations.

Guest access

The entire second floor of the building is yours. There is a keypad lock on the main entrance, and we will send the code before you check in. No need to arrange a time to meet us for access -- you can let yourself in. Easy!

The apartment itself includes one master bedroom, a bathroom with sink, tub and shower, a sunny kitchen with all the utensils, dishes and cookware you need, a large open living room, a den area with a sofa, desk and flatscreen TV with cable and Netflix, fast wi-fi internet access, and a private deck off the breakfast nook which leads down to a large, fenced-in backyard where you can enjoy a firepit and a grill.

Interaction with guests

We will interact with guests as much or as little as needed -- we love to give recommendations on where to eat, where to see great live music, etc. We live in the main level apartment below, so we are reachable 24/7 via phone, text, email, and door knocks.

Other things to note

Sales tax is included in your nightly rate.

We provide freshly washed towels, washcloths, and bedsheets for every guest. There is soap and shampoo/conditioner, and a hair dryer. There's also a washer and dryer for laundry, which you're free to use anytime, and an iron/board.

Peter & Kathryn's apartment is everything I love about AirBnB, a home a way from home in a local neighbourhood. They gave lots of recommendations which made our week stay in Minneapolis even more special.

Although I didn't get the chance to meet Peter and Kathryn in person, their apartment was exactly what I needed. I was in town for a conference and left booking a hotel too late. The apartment was in a perfect location, without all the hassle of being in the middle of downtown and waaay more space than a hotel room! Easy street parking, great restaurants, coffee and brewery's all within walking distance. A safe and friendly neighborhood which was great for a morning run on the two occasions I was motivated enough to run along the Mississippi river. The only minor negative was that one of the air conditioning units was a bit noisy if you tried to leave it on at night - but it wasn't warm enough to matter anyway.

The apartment is beautiful and well furnished, and it was great having kitchen access and tea & coffee at home in the mornings. We loved being close to coffee shops, restaurants, and breweries in NE Minneapolis. Pete is quick to reply and easy to coordinate with!

Peter has a wonderful, unique place in Northeast. Many restaurants and bars within walking distance but you might find you just want to stay in because the apartment itself is so comfortable. Highly recommended.

Peter's apartment was SUCH a beautiful space! If we ever come through Minneapolis again we'll definitely be staying here a second (and hopefully third and fourth!) time :)

We had a wonderful stay at Peter's place in Minneapolis! The apartment is adorable and homey. We particularly liked its unique style and the neighborhood it's located in. Peter's Guidebook to the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District was full of helpful tips, especially for a group who had never been to the city before. Peter was kind and communicative. I'd definitely stay at the Corner Store again!

I'm a musician and a writer, from Minneapolis originally -- I love my hometown, and enjoy showing it off to guests. I love food, art, music, and traveling -- and I've come to appreciate meeting people by staying at Airbnbs around the world. When I travel, I like to get to know a place, and live like the locals do. With that in mind, I try to host as if you're a long lost friend from out of town -- I'm proud of my city and my neighborhood, and will make your stay a great one.
