A special note about COVID-19 — as a host, your health and safety is my number one priority. I am very conscientious about bleaching/sterilizing every load of laundry, and sanitizing every surface, light switch, door handle, etc. in the house between guest stays. I want to reassure you that as a host, I’m doing everything I can to make sure you will have peace of mind during your stay. As of now, Minneapolis is not a major hotspot for Coronavirus, but being vigilant is still really important as we all work together to slow its spread.

Welcome to my home! This is your own private apartment -- the entire second level of what used to be a corner grocery store. Built in 1902, the space is super unique, comfortable, and modern, yet retains its historic and charming character. Located near downtown, the U of M, and the Mississippi river. Enjoy the spacious, open layout, take advantage of the beautiful private backyard, and explore the neighborhood!

Brand new for 2020: I just built an authentic wood-fired SAUNA, perfect for relaxing on cold winter days. The sauna is located in the backyard, has a full changing/cool-down room, and is stocked with fresh towels. It's a fantastic experience.

In the mornings, brew some locally roasted coffee or tea (I provide both) in the sunny kitchen, and have breakfast outside on the deck among the treetops overlooking the large, wildflower-filled private backyard, where, later in the day, you might decide to stroll down the spiral staircase to the yard and have a barbecue, or sit around the fire pit on a starry night with a drink, or have a rejuvenating sweat in the sauna.

The apartment will sleep five people, but is most comfortable with two or three.

I live nearby, and am always available by phone whenever you might need anything!

Just off the kitchen is a cool birch tree-painted room with a breakfast counter, which leads out to the second-story deck.

You have your own private deck, and also access to the yard below via spiral staircase. The backyard is a special spot. Fully fenced in, it feels super private and a world away — plenty of decks, lounge spots, garden beds, and a fire pit for you to enjoy on a chilly evening with friends. Best of all, there's a brand new wood-fired sauna for you to enjoy -- perfect for the wintertime. The yard is also a great area for photo shoots — weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, or anything else!

Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States

I know this neighborhood inside and out, and will provide you with my ultra-awesome, comprehensive neighborhood guide when you book :)

The takeaway: you're in the epicenter of the best food, drink, coffee, art, and culture in town, walkable to most of it. If you're a beer fanatic, you're a stone's throw from over a dozen local breweries.

You are within walking distance of three of Minneapolis’ most award-winning restaurants:

- Hai Hai (a 5 min walk)
- Popol Vuh (10 min walk)
- Young Joni (15 min walk)

When you venture out, you will find yourself in the heart of the Northeast Arts District -- a safe, charming residential neighborhood that is within 1-2 miles of coffee shops, grocery stores, restaurants, and all manner of excellent restaurants, bars, and attractions, in addition to incredible local breweries, hundreds of artist studios, and more.

Our street is a designated bikeway, among many others that cover the entire city. Minneapolis is one of the best biking cities in the country, and we provide maps and route advice to get you just about anywhere.

We are close to the center of downtown, the Minneapolis chain of lakes, and Target Field (the new Twins stadium). The largest art crawl/festival in the nation, Art-a-Whirl, takes place directly in our neighborhood every May.
