Great location

Situated in the charming market town of Eumundi, the Little Red Train Carriage is a perfect expression of the town itself - relaxed, quirky, inspired & creative, with an easy charm that doesn't take itself too seriously. Set on 4 bucolic acres in Eumundi, you'll have front door access to the town - with cafés, pubs, restaurants & the famous Eumundi Markets just a 5 minute stroll. Views from your private deck bring instant country tranquility, with the delights of Noosa just 20 mins drive away.

The space
Little Red is an original 1940s Queensland railway guard's carriage, built in Ipswich. Plenty of original features still exist, but a good dose of love, hard work and inspiration have enhanced it to create a space that's comfortable and unique, with a sense of relaxed luxury. You'll find a queen sized bed with luxury bed-linen at one end of the carriage, and a relaxed, cosy lounge area at the other end, complete with body-loving, comfy leather armchairs.

You'll have a private bathroom at your disposal, but note this is NOT located in the train carriage, and is a short walk, 20 metres, located next to the swimming pool - also yours to enjoy throughout your stay.

While you'll find tea/coffee facilities and a fridge in the carriage for your use, there is NO kitchen in Little Red, but with numerous cafés, restaurants and Eumundi's two great pubs just minutes walk away, and the many delights of Noosa just 20 minutes drive, you'll be spoilt for choice. Dine out, or bring a take-away back to enjoy on the deck with views over the paddocks and on to Mount Cooroy.

In the back paddock you'll find a small lake, fed by the North Maroochy River which also flows by on the edge of the property. Take the time to enjoy our Platypus Walk while you're here.

Where you’ll be

Eumundi, Queensland, Australia

We love our little town! Eumundi is a jewel in the altogether wonderful location that is the Sunshine Coast. It's a small town that punches above its weight, boasting two charismatic and fun pubs with plentiful local music and great food, as well as a number of small restaurants and cafés. The famous Eumundi Markets take place every Wednesday and Saturday mornings, with a smaller offering also on Friday mornings. On these days, you'll find an exciting energy, with hundreds of stalls offering everything from fresh food, gifts, crafts, art, clothing and a whole lot more. A day at the Markets can include scrumptious breakfast or lunch, plenty of shopping opportunities, plus a relaxing massage, or a beer tasting at The Imperial Hotel. There's plenty of variety.

Nearby, the beaches of Noosa and vibe of Hastings Street are just a 20 minute drive away, as are the wide expanses of Sunshine, Peregian or Coolum Beaches. Head west to explore country towns like Kenilworth, and head into the stunning Hinterland, or chat with your hosts, Annalise & Ray, about some of the spectacular day walks on the Noosa Network Trail around the country communities of Pomona, Kin Kin and Cooroy. With backgrounds in tourism and wildlife, we're also just the people to ask about discovering the wildlife and wilderness of the area - from rainforest walks, to paddling the Everglades.

During your stay

Your hosts, Annalise & Ray, live in the beautiful Queenslander on the property, so we'll be available to help with any questions or inspiration if you're looking to explore the area. We've both worked in Australian tourism for decades, so love inspiring people to explore and discover.

During your stay, you're likely to meet your other host - the friendly and utterly delightful Clancy, the strawberry-blonde Border Collie. She's extremely well-mannered, so likely to want to come and say hello, and if you feel inclined to kick a soccer ball for her she'll leave you impressed!
