Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Our secluded Blue Mountains studio features stunning uninterrupted views of the bush, a modern bathroom and kitchen, and a private bouldering wall for rock climbers! Take a bath while gazing at the tree-lined horizon. Comfortably fits two adults, with a futon for kids or a guest. Located just a short 5- to 15-minute drive to hikes and lookouts of Wentworth Falls, Leura and Katoomba. This is the perfect place for a getaway - whether for relaxing, being active, creative or all of the above!

The space
Our studio is ideal for those wanting a base from which to explore the Blue Mountains for a weekend, a week or more! It is completely separate from our main house with private access, as well as blinds to block sight lines to the main house. Having a car/hire car will ensure you have the best experience.

Perfect for couples, singles or families of up to four.

The studio includes a kitchen (four-burner stove, oven, microwave, mini fridge), bathroom (with views of the bush), walk-in wardrobe and contemporary furnishings. Plus it has a high-quality reverse cycle heater/air-conditioner, so it's beautifully warm or cool no matter what time of year you visit. THERE IS NO TV - which most of our guests appreciate as it offers a chance for some screen-free time.

One of the main highlights is the bathroom, where you can enjoy a shower or bath while taking in the beautiful views. There's something magical about being so close to nature in the bathroom! We also provide tea-light candles to make your bathroom experience even more relaxing.

The space is combined kitchen/dining/living/bedroom, and there is plenty of room for all visitors to escape to their own nook.

The pitched ceiling creates an airy, light-filled atmosphere, and the creature comforts we provide give that extra feeling of luxury.

The studio also looks out onto its very own BRAND-NEW bouldering wall and hangboard - which makes this a perfect retreat for rock-climbers. (Note: use of the bouldering wall by arrangement only, but you can use the hangboard any time).

Underneath the studio, in the garage, is a full size ping-pong table - a great wet-weather activity!

Bring your yoga mat, your journal, a good book, your guitar or anything that you don't usually have time for - and enjoy it in our serene space.

Guest access
Guests can enjoy private access and parking. You will also have access to the downstairs deck of our house, which provides the same bush views as the studio in a shaded outdoor area. We rarely - if ever - go downstairs so the bottom deck is like your own private outdoor area.

Other things to note
After hosting hundreds of guests, I've made a list of items that you might like to pack (which we are unfortunately unable to provide) that may make your trip even more comfortable.

* Slippers. The studio has jute carpet, which some people find gives an excellent foot massage when walking around in socks, while others may find it more comfortable to wear slippers. Pack yours if you like cushioned soles :)

* Eye mask. The studio is lovely and sunny. Some guests relish this, whereas others prefer their sleep-ins to be a bit darker. Pack your eye-mask if this is you.

* Food & snacks. I provide tea and coffee, 250ml of milk and some chocolates, but if you'd like heartier nibbles and nosh when you arrive - please BYO.

* Luxurious toiletries. I provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash but for maximum luxury BYO your favourite bath additive (no glittery bath bombs please!) and any body-is-your-temple products.

* Umbrella & warm coat. Check the weather forecast before you arrive, and be sure to be ready for chilly or drizzly moments.

Please get in touch with any questions about what to bring if you're unsure, and I'd be happy to help.

My work: Freelance copywriter
Speaks English
I'm a writer and adventurer living in the beautiful Blue Mountains with my husband, Peter, and daughters, Adeline and Frankie. We've been living here for six years and chose our home because of its stunning views, serenity and proximity to all the amazing things to do in the mountains - from hiking scenic trails to discovering hidden canyons to snuggling up in cafes and just breathing in the pure mountains air. I'm a writer, music lover, mother, trail runner... and many other things. Pete and I love good food, good coffee and good wine, so it's safe to say we have good taste and we've made sure this comes across when setting up our studio. We've travelled a lot and have experienced the generosity of so many people. Now we want to give a little back! We're also convinced we live in one of the most beautiful places on earth, so we love showing off our little part of the world to visitors. As travellers we know how good it feels to arrive at a place that's got creature comforts and feels a bit luxurious, so we've definitely created that feeling in our studio. It's decorated with brand new contemporary furniture, it has views across the mountains and the bathroom looks straight out onto the bush. There's something about taking a shower or bath right in the middle of nature that is just so relaxing. It makes you feel a million miles away, like you're truly on holiday. We also appreciate when hosts tell us all the secret places locals go but tourists don't often know about... so we're excited to reveal the best walks, cafes, restaurants, sights and other tips to our Airbnb guests. We can't wait to host you! Please get in touch if you have any questions. Jodie
