Quirky, well appointed self-contained tiny cottage for 2 (twin beds that separate or zip to make a king double bed) with walking, biking, mountains, tarns and rivers on the doorstep. Kendal 3 miles. Windermere 10.5. New furniture and appliances. Thoughtful touches that add comfort & convenience. Set in the well tended grounds of the host's converted barn. Fibre WiFi coming soon - probably mid November. Adventure advice on tap from the host!

The space
Sprint Cottage has been restored to offer self-contained, well appointed and thoughfully equipped accommodation for cozy couples and friends on a retreat or adventure break. Situated in the sprawling garden of the host, and bordering sheep farms, the cottage is within striking distance on two wheels or feet of many fantastic places including - Potter Fell (that's a big hill), walks through rolling farmland, easy cycling on quiet lanes or more challenging mountain biking, course fishing, wild swimming and fell running. We’re very close to the stunning Longsleddale Valley, the inspiration for the Postman Pat writer. There’s so much to do locally without needing a car (and heaps more within a short drive). All this can be accessed without facing the traffic, parking fees and crowds in the busy Lake District honeypot villages further west (though also within easy reach). Check-in is from 3pm. Check out is by 10am. Parking in the private off road courtyard on site. We look forward to welcoming visitors.

Guest access
Guests can enjoy use of the picnic table. There's a fire pit with a grill (wood provided) tucked away in the woods in the far corner of the garden that guests are welcome to use. Chill there with a glass a wine or beer and grill some sausages!

Other things to note
In European style, single 13.5 Tog duvets are supplied even for couple’s bookings and when the zip together twin beds are made up as a king double. The duvets and pillows (2 per guest) are synthetic and hypoallergenic. An activity "pack" with maps and suggested local adventures awaits you! There are no public rights of way adjacent to the cottage. The farmer's track borders the cottage and sometimes the sheep are only a few metres away! While it looks like the main house is really close, the angles and different heights between the buildings and windows ensures privacy in the cottage. Very secure, isolated location at the end of a private track so safe to store bikes outside. The electric shower won’t satisfy those used to waterfall power showers. A new 2400 watt Dimplex fan heater rapidly warms up the main room in this tiny house and there’s a wall mounted electric heater in the bathroom for a quick blast of heat after a shower. Wood is available to purchase to fire up the wood burner. Arriving late without groceries? Dip into our “honesty pantry” for UHT milk, porridge, soup, beans and the like to tied you over. Tiled floors so bring slippers! Sorry - no dogs. Cycling past us on the A6 from Lands End to John O’Groats? We can consider taking larger parties with tents. Just ask! Don’t meet our minimum night stay threshold? Send us a message with your dates and we may reconsider. The cleaning fee includes all linen, tea towels and luxurious bath and hand towels.

Secluded sums it up! It is incredibly quiet at our house at the end of a private track. You'll only hear wind, owls or sheep. Listen out for the River Sprint below during high water. All soothing sounds. We're bordered on 3 sides by sheep farms and fields. A young family lives next door. There is no passing traffic or other sources of noise to disturb you.
