All about Jeneane And Carlton’s place

Escape to a tranquil, adult-only, 1-bedroom cottage on 12 acres of peaceful hardwood forest. Spend the morning lazing on the screened porch or walk the trails & watch for deer and birds. Just 6 miles away, Watkinsville offers small town shopping & dining. Only a 20 min drive for antiquing or dining in historic Madison or head to Athens, home to UGA and all the shopping, dining and night-life of a college town. At night, relax by the fire-pit while you roast marshmallows and listen to the owls.

The space
Modern, yet quaint and formerly listed as Sunset Cottage, this oasis was designed by local artist Becky Cheeves Bundrick. Her art decorates the walls. The doors typify the unique character of the house as the front door contains beautiful leaded glass and the door to the porch is reclaimed from a local bank. The screen porch is perfect for afternoon naps on the cozy day bed or as a quiet place to eat, sip or work at the table for two. A charcoal grilling area overlooks the fire pit and outside living area from an uncovered deck. Due to a lack of child proofing measures, Dogwood Cottage is not suitable for children.

This retreat is in a rural area where wired services do not reach. The cottage is equipped with a flatscreen HDTV, DirecTV satellite and DVD player (with DVD library) as well as a cellular extender that enables guests to have 4G connectivity for any personal devices. All internet in the area is cellular and based on your own device. Our guests have found that the cellular extender keeps you in touch with the world if you wish to be.

The property has trails to enjoy, but for real mileage we recommend nearby Heritage Park.
