Welcome to the Pond Under The Pines!
On a quiet dirt road, but close to amenities in St. Marys and Stratford, experience private camping without the bustle of a busy campground. Get ready to sit back and relax with a cup of tea or coffee in the morning, or sleep all day and enjoy the amazing view of the stars from around a bonfire with friends. Wait quietly by the duck pond for all sorts of feathered friends.

The space
This farm stay is for nature lovers, explorers, adventurers, out-of-the-boxers, time-to-unwinders, if you're truly ready to let yourself slow down and rough it a bit.

Think UNPLUGGED - take this opportunity to disconnect from WIFI, re-establish your circadian rhythm with sunrise and sunset (no electricity), slow down and be present. FINALLY get back to focusing on YOU! Bring your paint and pallet, golf clubs, rubber boots, yoga mat, and get ready for adventure!

The 28’ on-site camper offers all that you need for a simple camping trip.

The kitchen is stocked with the basics for simple meals, but is not set up for cooking. Enjoy cooking over open flames on the campfire or use the tiny outdoor grill provided. Two picnic tables are on site, one for adults, and one toddler-sized for little ones.

New queen memory foam mattress in the master up front with two single bunk beds in the back, both with doors for privacy. Bring any extra tents you need for sleeping or dining. Due to covid, please bring your towels, dish cloths, and bed linens, including pillows, paper products.

Camping means you might need to let go of your creature comforts in exchange for clear skies and back-to-basics rejuvenation. There is a new, clean outhouse. No running water, no hot showers, no electricity. Bring your own drinking water. Get ready to sponge bath or use a backpack style shower to stay clean(BYO). I know you can do it! And once you're there, it won't seem that bad.

Bring your own:
- Tents (Dining or Sleeping)
- Drinking water and wash water
- Camping gear
- Activities (yoga mat, golf clubs)
- Linens (bed, kitchen, towels)
- Paper products (toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, food wraps etc)
- Flashlights
- Battery power pack for cellphone re-charges
- Bugspray
- Coolers and ice
- mini propane tank

- Camper Trailer with the basics
- A small load of firewood (more to purchase at the roadside stand)
- Rustic outhouse (please leave the outhouse empty when leaving)
- Adirondack chairs for 5

We want to be totally upfront about our property. Here's what to expect at the farm:

No running water, No flush toilets, No electricity, No fridge, No stove. Cook on the fire or on the mini propane grill (bring your own mini propane tank). Keep your cold foods in your cooler, bring flashlights and batteries for light at night.

There is a small pond on the property and animals in the woods (fox, coyote, raccoon, birds, bugs). Its possible that these animals will be out and about during your stay. Children should be in from the woods at sunset and should be supervised near the pond AT ALL TIMES. The pond is not suitable for swimming or boating/canoeing/kayaking, but check out our Guide for locations nearby. By booking this campsite, you agree to these safety rules.

Cell phone access allows for calls and texts and a little data, but don't expect 4 or 5G speeds. Best to download a few things before you come if you're planning on watching movies.

This is a working farm and there may be work being done in the fields close to the campsite, or ATVs on the property. We will let you know ahead of time if there will be work in the fields during your stay. We may need to access the fields occasionally without notice too.

This farm is occasionally shared with hunters, but we will coordinate hunting times and guests on the property. Guests will camp at one end, hunters will be at the other. There are also hunters in the area on other properties. This means there might be a gunshot early in the morning. Also, there may be restrictions to what woods you can access at certain times (e.g. no front woods access before 10am), but we will be very detailed with those directions if it should correspond with your stay.

We do not allow parties on the property.

Where you’ll be

Lakeside, Ontario, Canada

On a quiet back road, with crown land surrounding, this neighbourhood is filled with working farmland, friendly neighbours, and lots of beauty to explore.

If you're ready for more excitement, visit St. Marys and Stratford for unbelievable food, unique small-town shops and home-town breweries. We'll provide recommended places to eat and drink while you're here (must visits!).

We want to be totally upfront: Its also a WORKING crop farm, so you there's a good chance you'll hear tractors in the field, ATVs running the paths, neighbour farmers running the land. There ARE animals in the woods and neighbouring woods: opossums, raccoons, coyotes, foxes, birds, ducks on the pond, squirrels of course. There will be bugs (bugs live outside), frogs (singing in the morning and evening), and other things you'd expect in the woods (dirt, rocks, moss, sticks, prickly bushes, stickers and burrs). There could be hunters in the area depending on the week - you may hear gunshots). This what country-living is its all about.
