Stay cool beneath the tree canopy, in a quiet wooded oasis just minutes from the nation's capitol. Surrounded by two creeks this charming cape cod offers both a relaxing outdoor feel and close proximity to the historic sites, and city lifestyle of Washington, DC.

The space
The house is full of charming details from the dutch front door to the screened-in back deck, and everything in between-- open kitchen, wood-burning fireplace, upper-level bedroom with a king-sized bed, and bright finished garden level. If you want to go out, the house is close to Becca Lilly Playground, Sligo Creek hiker-biker trail, and DC mass transit. If not, with three living rooms and a deck with a big sofa, there is plenty of space to hangout. Not to mention the big fenced-in backyard and fire pit.

Location

Takoma Park, Maryland, United States

"Considered one of the most progressive cities in the United States, Takoma Park, a suburb immediately northeast of Washington, D.C., is not just a nuclear-free zone, a hotbed of former Peace Corps volunteers and a municipality that has extended the local vote to noncitizens and 16- and 17-year-olds; it is also home to an impressive number of healthy, mature trees." --NYT
