The house was built in 1860, and upon entering you will notice the original hardwood plank floors. You will also notice a lot of art and plants. There are over 140 pieces of original art and 50 beautiful plants living in my home. This property is a rare combination of luxury, art, privacy, comfort, convenience, nature, attention to detail, quality, quietude, and love.

The space
My home has 2 living rooms. In the relaxation room you will find a very comfortable blue couch with 2 large handmade pillows, a purple alpaca blanket, and a cashmere blanket ( stored in the hutch.) There is a 65 inch LG 4k TV equipped with ROKU including Netflix, Sling TV, and amazon Prime for your viewing pleasure. Create a soothing atmosphere by diffusing some Doterra essential oils while enjoying the therapeutic hypervolt massage device. You will see an extensive spiritual library, many pieces of art, and a few family heirloom pieces from my Russian grandmother.

Moving into the meditation room, you will find a mid century modern green couch with 2 beautiful handmade down stuffed pillows, a live edge wood coffee table, plenty of beautiful art, and a hand carved antique stone chess set. The modern white dining table and chairs positioned under the south facing window create a peaceful atmosphere for morning coffee and meals.

In the colorful and inviting kitchen, you will be awed by the green quartzite countertops and mother of pearl backsplash. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to create a wonderful meal. A special feature of the kitchen is the handheld coffee grinder. It's fun to use, and makes a great cup. The Berky water filtration system provides clean and refreshing filtered water at your fingertips. In the evening, you will notice the atmospheric lighting in the kitchen, where there is built in illumination installed above and below the cabinets, which add evening ambiance and showcase the beautiful plants.

Each of the three downstairs rooms has a new ceiling fan with illumination, which is great in the summer and also enhances the lighting in each room. You will find unique and strategic lighting throughout the downstairs living quarters, creating a relaxing atmosphere when the sun goes down.

My garden is where I like to spend much of the day during spring, summer, and fall. There are 2 separate sitting areas outside. The first is a high top table with 2 chairs, perfect for outdoor meals and morning sun. The second is on the garden level, with 2 cozy lounge chairs, a table, and tiki torch. The house is situated between 2 quiet neighbors, but not only that, the road behind my house is not busy, which helps maintain a very quiet atmosphere. You will hear and see birds who live in my neighbor Jerry's large bamboo grove. Lately there has been adolescent hawks hunting for worms in my other neighbor Malinda's yard. I cant say enough about how lovely it is to admire the many different types of flowers, listen to and watch the birds, soak up the sun, and simply relax. The gardens extend all the way to the end of the property, where you will find a large parking space.

After making your way up the red plush carpeted stairs, you will embark upon the master bedroom. A new 12 inch memory foam king bed, luxurious 100% french linen sheets, miracle bamboo pillows, and down comforter create an incredibly enjoyable bedtime experience. Enjoy the glamorous wrought iron chandelier, vibrant Afgan kilim rug, tapestries from Kenya, India, and rural China, plenty of plants and art, and soothing color concepts. A walk- in closet will provide you with plenty of room for all of your clothes.

The bathroom is large, with vibrant colors, plenty of art, carrara marble vanity with mother of pearl backsplash, and a few cute hanging plants . The shower head is great, with a shampoo wand for a spa like experience. The bathtub is nice, if you so desire.

Through the bathroom, you will find a door and staircase leading to the second bedroom. This room has a new 12 inch queen size memory foam mattress, 100% linen sheets, nice and warm quilts and blankets, and miracle bamboo pillows. The large dresser will accommodate plenty of clothes. This bedroom is quiet and tranquil, being that it is on the third floor. The bedroom is ventilated, and receives heat and central air. There is also an antique from my grandmother, plus plenty of interesting artwork throughout this room.

My basement will also be open for you to use, equipped with a washing machine, new dryer, and wifi printer. All new heating and cooling systems were installed recently, which makes this home very comfortable in every season.

I bought and moved into this property in January 2018, and have been making continual improvements ever since. Living here has sort of been an art project in itself. And now I get to pass it on to my Airbnb family.

Where you’ll be

Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States

This is a great residential neighborhood. It is safe, eclectic, authentic, charming, vibrant, beautiful, and peaceful. It is named “cabbage hill” after the German settlers who planted cabbage upon the hill that our neighborhood is situated. Downtown Lancaster city is a less than 10 minute walk away, and has soooo much to offer. Stunningly beautiful city homes, renovated warehouses and factories, plus too many 18th and 19th century churches to count make Lancaster City a visual feast. Combine the incredible historic buildings with an overabundance of coffee shops, restaurants and bars, parks, and shopping make this an exceptionally nice place to be.
My home is also situated close to Amish Country. The farmlands of Lancaster county are a rare and very special place indeed. In just a 20-minute drive you will be in a completely different world of Amish farming, horse and buggies, and serene landscapes. Not to mention the many roadside produce stands where families sell fruits and veggies right from their garden. The Lancaster County countryside has certainly stolen my heart.
