Nestled in the midst of the Sapphire Coast hinterland, the cottage is surrounded by giant Eucalyptus and twisted Willows. Allow us to transport you back to the era of jazz’s golden days, featuring luxurious velvet sofas, glamorous accents, exquisite linen and vintage furnishings. Ellington is more than just a place to relax; it invites you to relish the charm of days gone by.

The space
This historic cottage, Circa 1870 sits on 5 acres of land and is exclusively yours to enjoy. Featuring two queen bedrooms, the cottage provides a perfect romantic getaway for two or comfortably fits four adults.

The interior boasts hardwood floors and slate tiles adorned with luxurious rugs. Two fully functional fireplaces, stocked with firewood for those chilly winter evenings, coupled with sumptuous linen bedding, guarantee a dreamy night's sleep.

The deep bath on the private verandah provides you with a place to reset and soak away those everyday stresses.

Imbued with the spirit of the Jazz Age, the space is adorned with pressed metal walls and luscious armchairs, not to mention two exquisite deep velvet sofas perfect for sinking into next to the fire.

It's worth noting that Ellington Grove intentionally lacks a television, inviting you to take a respite from your devices and fully embrace the retreat. Feel free to lose yourself in a good book, explore the available board games, or perhaps learn a new card game while nestled in the cosy lounge or on the terrace.

The newly fitted modern kitchen, equipped with a stovetop, oven, dishwasher, fridge, coffee percolator/ plunger, and basic cookware, includes essential pantry items such as oil, salt, pepper, coffee, and tea. For additional supplies, Candelo General Store (hours may vary) is just a ten-minute stroll away, while Bega Woolworths is a convenient twenty-minute drive for a more extensive stock-up. The local pub, less than a 15-minute walk away, serves excellent food and takeaways, with opening hours subject to trade variations.

Getting Around:
Merimbula Airport, a half-hour drive from Ellington Grove, offers car rental services. While a car is essential for exploring the surrounding areas, Candelo Village is a pleasant 10-minute walk away from the cottage. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the local Candelo Cafe for breakfast or lunch.

The vicinity is ripe for exploration, with a scenic half-hour drive leading to the coast. Visit Merimbula, Pambula, and the historic Tathra, or venture a bit further to discover the beautiful beaches of Bermagui to the north and Eden to the south. Alternatively, take a stroll back in time at Tilba Tilba.

For adventure enthusiasts, numerous hiking trails, rolling hills for cyclists, scenic lookouts, summit walks, rainforest tracks, and coastal hikes await exploration around the Sapphire Coast.

Things to Note:
While we adore furry friends, please note that we cannot accommodate pets due to our cleaning protocols. Additionally, please be aware that the house is not suitable for young children due to the fireplaces and a small dam on the property.

While our fireplaces are at the disposal of guests, we kindly ask you to familiarize yourself with the safety guidelines and local fire restrictions during the fire season.

To maintain the pristine condition of Ellington Grove as a luxury retreat, we request no parties on the premises.
