Discover the simple beauty and tranquility of Living Tiny while surrounded by soft, green hills. Sip a cup of coffee while gazing at greenery from the living room or back deck. Lounge in a hammock, meditate or write, explore the 80-acre property (or the beautiful Ponca State Park trails, a 10 min. drive away!), or enjoy the warmth of the outdoor firepit while star-gazing. Come in after enjoying nature and relax with a glass of wine in an elegant, modern tiny house. Perfect, peaceful get-away.

The space
The entire footprint of this home is 12x32 (not including decks)--but for a tiny house, it actually is quite spacious! Huge windows with beautiful views of the Nebraska countryside, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, in-ceiling speakers, wifi/Netflix, large back deck, front deck, 3'x5' shower, washer/dryer, indoor fireplace (turned off during summer months), outdoor propane firepit, oak floors, reclaimed barnwood accents throughout. All on a spacious property of rolling hills and spectaular views.

My tiny house has a wide-open feel first because of the landscape (living in nature), and next because of all the windows that let that nature in. I designed and built this house myself, and wanted two things in order to give it an open, bright ambiance: High ceilings and big windows. I wanted to look at nature all the time, and tried to "bring the outside in". It turned out exactly how I wanted! This house is one of those "Not-so-tiny" tinies. Once inside, it feels bigger than you'd think, but it's still technically only 342 sq feet on the bottom level. Since I was custom building it for myself, I had to include a few luxuries and wish-items! My favorite features are: the heated floor throughout the bathroom and bedroom, the fire place, the big back deck/carport, in-ceiling speakers throughout the house, the electric fireplace by the master bed, the hardwood oak livingroom/kitchen floor, the reflective ceiling tiles (create an illusion of space and 'bigness'), the look of the storage stairs, the off-grid water system, the barn wood that I incorporated throughout the house, and the huge picture window in the living room. My desire for everyone who stays in my home is first, that you feel valued and valuable, and second, that you feel and enjoy the peace that I feel in this space.

More about the space: I live next to my good friends John and Audrey. They are awesome! We all love Jesus, and have a passion for seeing Him heal and restore people. Their ministry is called "Food for Rest: Healing People and Land". John is passionate about Permaculture (healing land), and Audrey and I love inner healing ministry (healing people). By staying here you are sowing into this ministry and the development of this land for ministry. We would love to get to know you, and any of us would love pray for you! But also, there is no pressure--we are all super flexible and can be as involved or non-involved as you wish. We just feel blessed to have you with us!

Guest access
The entire tiny house is yours! For food: you have access to all kitchenware, myriad spices, anything in the pantry, cupboards or fridge, coffee/coffee maker, real cream and sugar. There are breakfast foods waiting for you in the fridge--eggs, bread, milk, orange juice, English muffins, greek yogurt, and granola, as well as PB & J for lunch if you wish. The grocery store and local pizza joint are an 8-minute drive east, there's a yummy burger dive (Bob's Bar) 9 minutes south, and a large variety of restaurants is a 30-minute drive East. If you're staying for three days or more, and enjoy cooking new meals at home (like I do!), I can also arrange to have Green Chef or Blue Apron deliver meals for you to make. More details about that in "Additional Notes".

You'll also have access to the entire property: 80 acres! Feel free to go exploring--except the space with the cows. Don't do that. But overall, just let loose and be free! Hike the big hill by my house; the view is truly unparalleled. Or you may just prefer to sit on the back deck and take in the lovely views from there, or walk the trail circling two acres of the property. You may see people occasionally around the property, as Audrey has other spaces on the property she rents out--a tiny house about 100 feet north of mine (included in a few pictures) and a camping space kitty-corner from my house. Audrey lives on the property behind the grove of trees, and will be around at all times to answer any questions you might have!

1.5 miles from my tiny house is Powder Creek--which is great for fishing or kayaking/canoeing. And I do have a canoe on the property for your use! You will need to have a vehicle with a hitch (2" ball ) to transport the canoe on my utility trailer to and from the lake. But just let me know in advance and I will get it set up for you!

If there is nobody camping at the campsite, feel free to use the fire-pit across the yard from my house. There are self-serve $5 firewood bundles available that you can buy from Audrey as well; more details about this are in the Tiny House Manual, which you'll see when you arrive.

Other things to note
-There may or may not be other people renting out the tiny house 100 feet away or camping on the property. I've never had a group be loud, though, and all that have stayed so far have been quite lovely and courteous.

-My listing states that check-in is at 3 pm; however, this is only necessary in the event of a back-to-back booking (when someone has checked out earlier in the day), or if you are checking in on a Saturday or Sunday. If you are checking in on a week day (Fridays included), check-in time is as early as 8 am. So please ask about that before you book--there's a good chance early check-in is an option. This applies to the School Year ONLY, and not the summer months.

-I have cats. They are cute. They will not be there when you are here--don't worry. Moreover, I clean often, so not much evidence of their presence exists--except a covered litter box. But it is something to note if you have allergies. However, my mother is quite allergic to cats, and she has no allergic reaction at all when at my house. Like I said, I clean often.

-I do a deep-cleaning of the entire tiny house between each and every guest stay. That means that I:
-Completely change out all used linens, comforters, and blankets
-Sanitize chairs and throw pillows
-Sanitize all touched surfaces throughout the house (basically every surface but the walls)
-Make sure everything looks sparkling clean!!

-Audrey and her husband John have three small boys. They will mostly be playing by their house on another part of the property, but you may see them from time to time, especially if John is working in the gardens--they like to "help" him.

-During the winter months in order to avoid freezing water lines, I use an off-grid water system, which includes a water bag inside the couch and a small water pump to get the water to all the house water pipes. The pump is not excessively noisy, but does make some noise, and it comes on whenever you turn on a faucet; so just be aware of that before you book.

-If you are staying for at least three days, I do have a subscription to a few fresh meal delivery services so you can cook your own dinner without needing to shop or bring groceries beforehand: Green Chef and Blue Apron. If requested, I would be happy to order a few fresh food delivery meals for you to cook and enjoy during your stay. Two meals for two people is $53, and three is $73. Green Chef also offers a 4th meal if you'd like for another $20. They also offer meals for 4 people for an additional cost. Deliveries are on Wednesdays, but even if you're not coming until later in the week, the groceries stay fresh for the week. I personally have really enjoyed trying new recipes and discovering delicious new meals! If you book a few weeks in advance and would like to try this option, let me know. I will send you the meal options for that week and we will work out the order details!

Ponca, Nebraska, United States

I highly recommend visiting Ponca State Park and hiking the trails there. It is beautiful! I've also seen people biking along the roads in the park. Otherwise, there is a lot of farm land surrounding us, and some beautiful gardens next to my house. Walking the trails through the trees is a must! It is beautiful. Our property is so peaceful! Away from the city, away from the stress. You can see the stars at night and listen to the birds chirp in the morning. Come see the chickens on the property--and you might even spy our resident woodchuck! And cows, of course! Such a tranquil, remote setting, but only an 8-minute drive into town, where you'll find a few restaurants, a grocery store, gas stations, and all the basics you'll need.

We are far out into the countryside, so if you like off-roading or want to bring your snowmobile or snowshoes in the winter, it is perfect for those types of activities. I also have a canoe you can take to the nearby lake (it's on a small trailer, if you have a hitch to pull it), a kiddy pool for kids in the summer, and lawn games (a corn hole set, bocce ball, and various other games).

About my community: I live nearby good friends, John and Audrey--we both live on the Food for Rest property, and if I am not on the property, Audrey will be hosting you. They are amazing people, and I hope you are as blessed by them as I have been! John loves permaculture, and he's done some great stuff with that on the property--he'd love to chat with you about it if you're interested! However, they are as involved as you want them to be--if you don't want to talk, they won't take it personally! They're just friendly, loving people.

About four years ago I embarked on the journey of building my own tiny house. And here it is! It is absolutely amazing to live in the tranquility of the countryside hills next to good friends. Some hobbies of mine are hiking Ponca State park, reading, listening to audiobooks, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I love having people from all walks in life come and experience my tiny house and the land. I enjoy talking to my guests when possible--but as someone with introvert needs, I also completely understand just wanting a quiet retreat with no other human interactions. Just let me know which you'd prefer when you book, and I will honor that. Looking forward to having you!

When possible, I like to meet my guests and chat with them a bit if they're up for it! It gives me a chance to meet amazing people! It also gives me a chance to answer any questions guests might have about their stay. If a guest prefers no contact, however, I do understand, and will honor that if requested--in that case, I will still be available via message. Either way, I am happy to have you!
