Escape, Relax, Recharge. Welcome to the loft house. Private clean space makes for the perfect getaway for couples. Soft and neutral decor and design. Soothing and natural setting to relax and recharge. Light and bright with sunshine pouring in the windows all day long. Interior flows seamlessly into the beauty of nature outside. Views of the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains. Adventures abound for all types within 30 min. Located in the quaint town of Mars Hill, 15 miles North of Asheville.

The space
It is hard to capture in pictures or put into words the feeling you get when sitting in the space looking out at the blue ridge mountains with the cool breeze from the large windows. Sitting on top of Mars Hill, this 1940s building has the original oak hardwood floors and exposed brick wall along kitchen and stairwell. Materials that were replaced during construction were repurposed for decor and furniture. The upfits and furnishings make this feel like an upscale apartment, but the comfortable and neutral tones allow you to relax and refresh. Velvet couch, top of the line bed and mattress, deep soaking tub, vintage rugs, antique castle door coffee table and end table, all solid wood furniture, natural hickory cabinets, local pottery, live plants, candles everywhere...the list goes on and on.

The building: Top floor of this 3 level building, up just one flight of stairs from Main Street. The loft faces the side street and rear of the building, overlooking the mountains. Main entry to loft is shared with one other unit on the same level. The walls are very well insulated for sound suppression for your comfort. The spaces do not allow any parties. The other unit is a two bedroom apartment that is also an Airbnb. The main level directly beneath the unit is a commercial space that is currently my office which I rarely occupy and never at night.

The kitchen is set up with every essential for cooking if you would like, however the local restaurants offer great cuisine. Authentic Italian cuisine and pizza across the street, an american brew pub with great burgers and wings on the corner a block away, and great taco and burrito place. The unit includes fresh local coffee and coffee maker, or stroll down to the library (coffeehouse). Want a happy hour? Stroll a few hundred feet to the Old Mars Theatre which has been converted in Hickory Nut Gap Brewery.

Location:
15 miles north of Asheville (an easy 20-25 min drive down highway 26), 30 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway, hikes, trails, adventures abound. Rafting, Skiing, Tubing, Swimming, Waterfalls, Wildlife - an extensive list of outdoor activities within 30 minutes. The north side of Asheville is the least dense in terms of population and allows for a much more natural and slowed down setting. Grocery store, pharmacy, gas, etc just minutes down the hill.

Sanitation: We want you to know that we are taking sanitation very seriously. We provide our guests with sanitizer sprays, wipes, gels, and rigorously clean units between each guest. We rotate linens and towels with multiple sets to ensure they are clean and sanitized. Between guests all surfaces and switches and handles and remotes are all disinfected. We want you to feel confident and comfortable with our space.

Safety: Mars Hill is a small mountain town. The college is a small 1600 student arts college but you wouldn't know it's a college because their are no bars or nightlife in town so it gets very sleepy and quiet. The local police are friendly and will stop to chat. While several buildings are currently vacant and available, the downtown is very well lit and constantly patrolled by local police and university police making it safe to wander at night. Entrance to the shared stairwell is locked and lighted at all times and each entry into the units has its own personalized key code.

Access to our 30 acre riverfront retreat: We live on the property and allow guests who book this space to come down the road 7 minutes and enjoy a private dock and 1500 feet of river frontage as well as private hiking trails and a 5 acre landscaped garden with beauty and birds abound. You can fish, bike, hike, swim, tube, or just lounge under the huge trees in the shade. A large fire pit and a dock with grille and plenty of seating make this shared space an oasis for ourselves and our guests. We do have another Airbnb on the property and they also have access to all the property has to offer. Let us know if you would like to visit while you are here and we will gladly share directions.

While this is a new listing, I would like to personally assure you that the lack of reviews should not be a deterrent from choosing this space. We have been hosts for over five years and have the experience in providing our guests with 5 star stays. Read the reviews from our other listings and you will see we know how to provide guests with an enjoyable and excellent experience.

I love to be outdoors as much as possible. Each of my listings is personal to me. I designed, built, and furnished them one at a time. I spend most of my time with my wife Keely, son Wiley, and dog Cotton.
