Welcome to Achamore Croft, I have one lovely room with two single beds available, with private washroom & toilet. Breakfast is included and ingredients are laid and reared on the island. My home is a cozy cottage in a quiet location and handy for visits to Iona and Staffa. The local village of Bunessan is an easy walk away where you can go to eat or have a drink. The stunning beaches of Uisken and Ardalanish are nearby.

The space

You'll be staying in my home and will meet my very elderly dog Rosie and a cheeky cat Bracken. Your room has a kettle and a variety of hot drinks available, also a hair dryer, WIFI and extra blankets if it's cold. Right next door to your room is the private toilet and washroom. There is parking space for a car in the drive too.

Guest access

You have a twin bedroom for two people with your own private washroom and toilet. The house bathroom is available for (showers only please) Guests are welcome to sit in my living room too. WIFI available. A lovely garden surrounding the house, which in turn looks out on to open fields, woods and mountains. I like to be at home to greet you, but if not I leave little notes for you to find your room etc. If you are going to be early or late arriving PLEASE let me know so either your room is ready or so I don't worry your lost or not turning up. Thank you

Interaction with guests

If I'm in the house, guests are more than welcome to see my workspace in the loft where I make baskets, or sit and chat in the living room and even walk the dog on the beach with me if they wish. You may sit or walk round my garden where I've made living willow bowers, and sculptures. If I'm going to a local event your more that welcome to come too.

Other things to note

Bring waterproofs and a thick jumper as weather is changeable. Always check time tables (summer or winter ones) for buses and ferries. May and early October is often a lovely time to visit, nice weather, not too busy and no midges. Island bus service allows you to travel accross the island and up to Iona ferry too. Note: The isle of Mull is bigger than you think and takes more time to drive around so plan your time.IMPORTANT if coming by car BOOK YOUR FERRY CROSSING as soon as possible, due to the cost going down last year ferries are filling up and people find they can't get on.

No smoking in the house please. I live a quiet life (no TV) loud music etc. Don't leave a mess basically. Let me know if you have dietry needs before I make your breakfasts. Enjoy the natural beauty of the island. Please note I buy only local bacon & sausages as do not support the inhumane animal industry. If local meat is not available I will make something else equally yummy. (We have lots of eggs from farm hens)

The directions for getting to Alex's place were spot on although the bus driver insisted that i get off at Bunessan meaning a long walk. However Alex, always thoughtful and welcoming would have been willing to pick me up if i had called. Alex is such a generous, outgoing and interesting host who was willing to share her stories. The open day at Camas and the evening music night in Fienphort were highlights.

We were unable to enjoy the accommodation as my wife sustained an injury to her back and as such we could not travel.
