Inviting, detached, refurbished brick farm cottage in rural setting. Perfect place to get away from it all, and yet near enough to local amenities and the lovely Suffolk heritage coast. Ideal family accommodation, with wood burner and patio garden.
The cottage is set back off the road on farmland and is ideal for family or friends looking to discover the area. It is also suitable accommodation for those attending local weddings or events. People feel very at home in it straight away. It will comfortably fit six people with one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and two single bedrooms. There is a shower room and loo upstairs and a bathroom and loo downstairs.
The entrance drive is shared with the adjacent farm house and it is important that the main gate is shut at all times.
Interaction with guests
There is a big farm house on the property lived in by family, so there is usually someone near to hand. You will be given keys and welcomed in by a family member.
Other things to note
There are dogs, small ponies and cats in the adjacent farm house, but they do not come onto the cottage premises. Arrival time can sometimes be before 4pm subject to arrangement.
Guests are expected to treat the property in the same way as they would the home of a friend i.e. with respect and consideration. Smoking is not allowed in the house, but I have no problem with smoking on the patio, as long as ash trays are used. Pets are only allowed in exceptional circumstances.
I am a writer with two teenage children and am now based in the French horse racing world of Chantilly, just north of Paris. However I spent much of my younger life between my home in Suffolk and London. I love travelling, animals, creativity of all sorts, originality and people - for all their faults! I am also President of the local bilingual school in Chantilly. The cottage is managed by a close family member and we visit frequently.
