Lovingly converted 1976 Bedford Bus is a surprisingly spacious yet cosy tiny home – it’s glamping on wheels! With a view of beautiful Mount Scanzi and our very own "Lake Scanzi" in exquisite Kangaroo Valley, it's the perfect place to spend a weekend out of the city. It’s a three minute drive to the popular river swimming hole under Hampden Bridge, and minutes to the centre of Kangaroo Valley township where you’ll find the perfect cup of coffee and excellent food.
The space
"Robert Bedford" the Bedford Bus converted by its previous owner’s with consideration and passion, is a simple but comfortable space with a unique relaxed vibe. Wake up to an incredible view of the famous Kangaroo Valley escarpments and what we call The Lake, have your morning coffee in the paddock and enjoy an evening wine sitting under festive lights.
BUS DETAILS
The bus has everything you need: a fridge and single-burner cooktop for cooking, plus toaster and kettle. There's a hot shower and a waterless composting toilet. We run on beautiful fresh rain water so please be conscious of water usage. The bus has air-conditioning and heating, or you can open the windows to catch the delightful through-breezes.
Outside, a fire pit, some lounge chairs and a small BBQ provides that country ambience. If the weather turns bad, you can bunker down indoors in the cosy bus and enjoy the sound of rain falling on the roof.
We provide sheets and towels. Soap, shampoo, tea and coffee. There is a comfortable, plush queen bed in the bedroom. The bus is best suited for adults due to its location beside a beautiful large dam we call our lake. But feel free to discuss further if you would like to have infants in tow.
Our beautiful bus is very comfortable. Like all vintage spaces, it has its quirks; please be aware of these. We describe a stay here as ‘bus-king’: not quite camping, not quite cottage.
The Bus has a curved interior ceiling so it is low on the edges. Be aware for taller than average guests.
Please note there is no wifi but very good mobile and 4G reception.
Guest Access
The bus has a paddock all of its own on our working farm! The areas around the bus paddock are not included in this listing. There is a large beautiful dam not far from your door step where you can enjoy the ducks, lake vista and occasional our resident pelican comes to chill for a little while. Please enjoy the tranquility from afar but be mindful the dam is deep and there is strictly no swimming or dam access please.
Interaction with Guests
We are available to you via phone during your stay for any little questions you may have! Feel free to give us a call!
