Agua Amarga is a picturesque, whitewashed, Spanish village, with its own sweeping beach, set in the spectacular national park of Cabo de Gata, Almería on the South East Coast of Spain.
The province has amongst the sunniest and mildest climes in Europe, with only 26 average rainfall per annum.
The coastline within the national park is a protected marine reserve, ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving (including one scuba centre in the village).
For outings, there are many coastal and inland hiking options, plus the nearby Tabernas dessert , home of the 1970s and 80s Spaghetti Westerns, starring Clint Eastwood (40mins) or the town of Nijar, famous for its ceramics.
The village, approximately half an hour from Almería international airport, was unspoiled by the construction boom that swept Spain since 2000, due to the strict planning regulations governing the national park.
Set around a central square, just yards from the beach, it is ideal for couples on a romantic holiday and young families.
There are several quality restaurants with beachside terraces, and an ample array of bars, cafés and small stylish bohemian shops set around the square.
The apartment, with its own independent entrance, is located in a small whitewashed building in the heart of the village, just 25 yards from the main square and 50 yards from the beach.
