Karen and Roland are wonderful hosts. Very welcoming and their local knowledge is amazing. We had a lovely stay with them at the end of our South Island trip. The view from the bedroom is postcard worthy!! Thanks for a relaxing end to a fantastic holiday.

A wonderful B&B in the Banks Peninsula. The Stable at Twin Gullies is a luxurious conversion, with clean and wonderfully decorated interiors. We just managed to peel ourselves out of the huge and comfy bed to explore Akaroa and the surrounding countryside. Some favourite activities of our stay were hiking the old Lighthouse road, wandering the beach at O'Cains Bay and exploring quaint Akaroa. We also had a beautiful meal (and wine) at 'The Little Bistro' which earns its place at the top of the Trip Advisor recommend restuarant list. However we must say the highlight of our stay was the hosting by Karen and Roland. They made us so welcome and at home in their property. To top it off they provided an outstanding breakfast each morning, with the most delicious locally baked danish pastry. Thank you so much for a lovely holiday xxx

A truly wonderful place to stay only minutes from Akaroa. The hosts Karen and Roland were extremely welcoming. I highly recommend this tranquil setting to anyone wishing to spend time in the Akaroa or Banks Peninsula area. I will 100% be returning in the bear future.

We were very happy with our stay at Karen and Roland. We had a room that used to be a stable. The view from our bedroom was priceless. The bedroom was specious and clean. The combined living/kitchen area was very nice and neat. Our two year old son loved the place. He enjoyed his time with the sheep that we believed that if he could talk, he would have asked us to take one of the sheep home :-) Breakfast was great but what's even better was the conversation we had with Karen and Roland. They are warm and friendly hosts. I would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you

Karen and Roland were absolutely lovely and we couldn't have asked for more welcoming and thoughtful hosts. The mini apartment was beautiful and romantic with a stunning view. The breakfast was amazing with the danish pastry being the highlight, so delicious! Thankyou so much Karen and Roland, we can't wait to come back!

Having spent three weeks on a whirlwind tour around the north and south islands, we opted to stay three nights at Twin Gullies as a restful treat to end our honeymoon. We were not disappointed! The property is nestled in the hills overlooking the harbour and peninsula. The views are stunning! (We are from Cornwall so have good comparisons). Our room was spotlessly clean and bed very comfy. We also had great kitchen facilities and an outside terrace to enjoy that morning cuppa. Our hosts Roland and Karen were really great people. Very kind, helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. Great to chat to and learn more of what to do in our day time outings. We will miss Twin Gullies and our hosts but will definitely be back. If a restful stay with beautiful views and great hosts is what you are after, here it is. Fantastic!
