Situated in the heart of Great Bay in the centre of Bruny Island you will find Blyth
Retreat. This idyllic property boasts an outdoor bath which is surrounded by a private
bush setting and water views. You are centrally based to access all that Bruny Island
has to offer like Bruny Island Cheese Co (5 minute walk) Cape Queen Elizabeth
Walking Track (5 minute drive) The Neck & Truganini Look Out (5 minute drive).
The space
This modern, sunny and inviting property comfortably sleeps 4 guests across two
bedrooms - one with Queen sized bed and the second bedroom comprises a Double
sized bed. .
Both beds have flax linen bedding for that extra luxury. You will find a contemporary style bathroom which is equipped with the
beautiful range of shampoos, conditioner, soaps and body wash.
Blyth Retreat is all about the ease of relaxing and entertaining with an open plan,
modern kitchen leather lounge draped in beautiful linen throw rugs and cushions, all designed with comfort in mind. I provide you with a
basic pantry and the kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and appliances for
you to be self-contained throughout your stay.
Before you catch the ferry we highly
encourage our guests to stock up on essential supplies You will find an IGA at
Snug on the way to the ferry or if time doesn’t permit you will also find the Adventure Bay Store and Alonnah General Store on Bruny Island.

It wouldn’t be a getaway without fabulous outdoor entertaining areas, and I have just this! We encourage taking in the epic Bruny sunsets from around the fire pit or cook up a storm on the BBQ on the deck boasting the water views. Otherwise for
ultimate relaxation take a deep soak in the private outdoor bath surrounded by the
towering gums.
Inside you can sit back and relax on the large lounge whilst listening to your favourite
music through the sound bar. All whilst looking out the windows watching the ever-changing water view with the trees blowing in the breeze enjoying the birdlife within
a peaceful bushland surrounding. I provide complimentary fast Wi-Fi and a smart
TV so catch up on shows on the streaming channels.
Ambiance is key whilst staying at Blyth Retreat – there are dimmers on all of the
inside lights throughout the house for you to adjust to your liking to really maximize
your experience and comfort. Outside is well-lit for you to enjoy the evenings by the
fire pit or on the deck. You will find fairy
lights around the outdoor bath for that extra bit of Bruny magic.
I am happy to welcome families with Children and your fur baby.
However please be mindful that this property is NOT fenced. Bringing your fur baby is restricted to Airbnb guests only.
The additional cost is to ensure that the housekeeper can be paid for her extra time required. Please read other details to note.
You will be required to take your fur baby with you as you explore the island and not leave them home alone at the property.
You will be also sharing the driveway with an internal property.

When I say Blyth Retreat is central, I mean it! You are only a short 5 minute
stroll down the hill via a walking track along the main road and you have access to
the beach. Only a quick 5 minute walk along the beach or along the main road you.
will find the hugely popular Bruny Island Cheese Co.
Guest access
There is plenty of space for you to comfortably park your car at no extra cost. Access is with a one small step up onto the deck that brings you to the front door. This property is a self check-in with a lockbox to access the front door key.
Other things to note
Ferry is operated by sealink and departs Approximately every 10mins departing from Kettering and sailing to Roberts Point, Bruny Island. Be mindful if you have booked in peak season allow plenty of time to catch the ferry.
If you are wishing to dine out, I suggest you make a booking.
Izzy's Bar is locally owned and is 20 mins from Blyth Retreat located before you head into Alonnah.
Alonnah hotel is 30 mins drive from Blyth retreat.
If you like to chat with the locals and shack owners. The Bowels Club is in Adventure Bay and will often do meals on a Friday and Saturday night. You may even be able to sign up for a game. :)
The winery is at Lunnawanna and will take you 40mins. All these destinations are approximant times.
I know I have said it already. If you wish to stock up the fridge and dine-in the IGA at Snug is a good stop before you catch the ferry.
Otherwise, the Adventure Bay shop is well stocked.
I am also on tank water along with the rest of the island. The whole island relies on one reservoir. If the island runs out that's hard on all of us.
Please along with everyone consider your water usage. This will make the water carters happy and those who live on Bruny. So, let's do our bit :).
If it is a hot day check with TASfire website to be sure there is no fire restrictions before lighting the firepit.

If you are bringing your fur baby, please bring your doggie bags to dispose of their matters in a respectful manner. You will be required to pick up their mess. Please do not leave it for my housekeeper to do as this will incite extra cleaning time for them. and please bring their bedding with you. I will have a box of old towels and sheets for you to use if needed.
I have beautiful linen and a leather lounge for your comfort. Unfortunately, this will make it that Fur baby is NOT permitted on the furniture or bedding.
