Situated in a very Heart of Newcastle with countless shops, cafes & restaurants only 12mins walking away. It's easy to get to Beaumont Street, Newcastle and Newcastle Beaches and entertainment with the train station and light rail only a few minutes by walk away.

Other things to note
We know we know, house rules are boring but hey they're important. Our rules are fairly stock standard but there's a few we've added from our past Host and Guest experiences.
Please note that check-in and check-out times are fairly firm as it allows our cleaning team to have the property ready for you and ready for the next guests in time. We do a thorough covid clean using virkon so the space is fresh and free from foreign germies.
We show you 100% respect and we do ask that the same is shown to us in return, we are in a business where things come up and we will do our best to assist you and rectify any issues asap. We're fairly chilled and laid back but do need our house rules to be adheared too.

⭐REGISTERED GUESTS ONLY⭐
We need to know who's on our property for our covid, council and insurance requirements. Accommodation and property access is for registered guests only, we know, total bummer. You will be required to be fully verified by Air BnB and all guests will need to be registered for covid, council and insurance purposes. Any unauthorized guests will incur a $149 fee per person per entry on property and all guests will be required to vacate the property.

No Exception To Check-In and Check-Out times unless discussed and approved with us in advance. We are a somewhat a well oiled machine and like to be as organized as we can. Late unauthorized check-out will incur a $200/hr fee billed at $50 per 15mins. This is yet to happen. Our guests are amazing.
⭐EARLY CHECK-IN / LATE CHECK-OUT⭐
Early check-in or late check-out can at times be arranged in advance. A $50 fee is required for either. This needs to be arranged and paid for in advance as special arrangements may need to be made. Please note that requests for early check-in on the day of check-in may not be available due to our schedule.
⭐CANCELLATION POLICY⭐
Cancellation Policy is firm. Please make sure our property is the right fit for you.
⭐NO PARTIES OR GATHERINGS⭐
Boy do we love to parrrrrtay, but hey just not here. To adhear to local council, Air bnb and our insurance guidelines we DO NOT allow parties or gatherings (anyone not on the initial booking detail) onto the property. We know, total bummer. We are required to register all guests for covid, council and insurance purposes. We do have external video surveillance surrounding the property to help protect both us and our guests. Any parties or gatherings will be shut down immediately, a $5,000 fee + any legal fines and fees will be due and guests will need to vacate the property stat. This has not once occurred, our guests are just super. 👌
⭐NO SMOKING/VAPING ON PROPERTY⭐
Shmoke and a pancake..? Unfortunately not here.
We want our guests to chillax in a smoke free environment plus we're not keen on putting out any fires anytime soon, the place is still so shiny and new. A $500 fee is set in place for anyone smoking, including vaping on the property. This has only ever occurred once.
⭐NO PETS⭐
As much as we are fans of fur babies, due to allergies of guests and some of our staff we do not allow pets in our space. A $500 fee per night will be billed for pets bought onto and into the dwelling + any loss of booking time due to cleaning. Any commercial cleaning fees will also be required from guests.
⭐NO GLITTER⭐
I know I know. We love glitter as much as the next guy, its shiny, it sparkles, its shimmery and fun but it just takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r to clean and get out and off of surfaces. Any glitter obstruction will incur a $500 fee + any loss of booking time for future guests due to cleaning. A commercial cleaning fee may also be required from guests. It's only happened the one time but it did happen so let's just leave that there.
⭐DAMAGES AND THEFT⭐
Any damages, loss and theft will be billed to the guest and payment will be required and reported to Airbnb, and the PoPo if need be. We have cataloged every record, every book, every piece of artwork and decor, towels, linens and even silverware and crockery and check off before/after each guest. We love our space and have procured decor and goodies from all over the world to be admired. Replacement of items will be costly to guests, + 150% on top of the cost plus postage, and have you noticed the increase in postal fees of late, it stings the nostrils, stings.
⭐NO BUSINESS / COMMERCIAL USE⭐
Property cannot be used for any unauthorised business or commercial (or if you say its personal but its not) activity without a formal written contract signed by both parties, The Atomic Hideaway and yourself, an added commercial fee and minimal 5 million legal liability insurance with The Atomic Hideaway listed as interested party on your liability insurance. For creative projects we rent by the hour (not the hanky panky kind), half day blocks, daily, weekly and more.
Any unauthorised use of the property in this or similar manner will incur a $5,000 fee + any additional legal costs and incurred losses including cleaning and booking cancellatios will be required of guests. Please reach out in relation to any commercial use. It's cheaper than the unauthorised use fee and alot less hassle.
⭐ NO SW⭐
Look we're progressive folks over here, we understand that SW is work but hey just not here. We will not have our space known as a SW location. Our insurance does not cover third party business activities which is why we can't allow unauthorised business/commercial activity. Our insurance and liability does not cover anybody that is not listed as a registered guest. SW is work thus violates our No Business/Commercial activity clause and our Registered Guests Only clause. Using our space for Unauthorised Business use including SW will bring with it a $5,000 fee + any legal fees + incurred losses including commercial cleaning fees and any future guest booking cancellations will be required of guest and guests/visitors/clients will be escorted from the property immediately with no refund.
As per Air BnB Policies:
🚫 No Incall Commercial Sex Work
A stay, experience or its surrounding property should not be used for paid sexual services, such as erotic massages or prostitution.
🚫 No Procuring Sex Work
Guests should not request and Hosts should not promote or offer paid sexual services.
🚫 No Commercial Pornography
A stay, Experience or its surrounding property should not be used for the creation of commercial pornography, photos or videos.
⭐NO ILLEGAL ACTIVITY⭐
Property cannot be used for any illegal activity. Any illegal activity will be reported to the local PoPo Police immediately and a $5,000 fee + legal costs + incurred losses including cleaning and guest booking cancellations will be required of guest. You will be required to vacate the property immediately and with no refund. You will be escorted from the property immediately with no refund.
As per Air BnB Policies:
🚫 No Illicit Drugs
Illegal or restricted drugs such as opium, opiates, opioids, coca and cocaine, amphetamine-type stimulants, central nervous system depressants and hallucinogens shouldn’t be present or used at a stay, Experience or the surrounding property unless prescribed by a physician for a medical condition.
🚫 No Drug Production or Manufacturing
A stay, Experience or its surrounding property shouldn’t be used to produce or manufacture illegal drugs from raw materials and/or plants.
🚫 No Drug Cultivation
A stay, Experience, or its surrounding property should not be used for raising or growing plants from which illegal drugs are refined, with the exemption of cannabis.
🚫 No Drug Distribution
A stay, Experience or its surrounding property should not be used to sell, gift, traffic or distribute drugs including cannabis, even if it is legal to do so in your area.
⭐LOST KEYS⭐
A fee of $600 for any lost keys will be charged as locks will need to be replaced. Any call out fees will also be charged to guest + any fees associated with future booking cancellations due to lost keys. We are only able to provide one set of keys for each stay.
⭐EXTRA CLEANING FEES⭐
Extra cleaning fees are charged at $150/hr. If guests are ill on the carpet or if there's any funky spills in the bedroom then new carpet will need to be laid at the cost of the guest. We know folks get sick but have buckets and blue sick bags in the bathroom drawer. Any extra commercial cleaning fees will need to be paid by guests + any additional losses including accommodation cancellations.
⭐STOLEN PROPERTY⭐
Any stolen goods including but not limited to games, decor, toys, books, records, linen and crockery will be required to be replaced at the cost of THE GUEST + 150% for our troubles + delivery costs. Many of our items have been procured overseas so will be costly. Please feel free to ask where we procured any item within the Atomic Hideaway walls and we'd happily send you links or names of the makers. We have some amazing small businesses contribute the overall build of The Atomic Hideaway and we could flap our gums all day on how brilliant they are, all day!
⭐️🎼 GREENROOM / TOURING ARTISTS 🎼⭐️
Why yes ma'am, after years of working in the music industry we are letting out our quirky space to touring Artists and Musicians. Anominity and Privacy is guaranteed. We won't even tell Mum!

🎼 Accommodation rider requirements are to be fulfilled by promoter, talent buyer or venue. The Atomic Hideaway has basic greenroom includions for pre-show prep and post-show chill. Please reach out for a list of inclusions and exclusions.

⭐️AUSTRALIA⭐️
The Atomic Hideaway is located on the East Coast of Australia. Newcastle NSW at times has flies, mosquito's, spiders, bugs, birds, you name it. Sometimes it rains and storms, sometimes it's sunny and sweltering hot. I bet you're thinking, geese, this all sounds pretty silly to announce, but it's now a thing that hosts are required to give forwarning of insects and even potential weather that may be on the property due to insane guest complaints (like they saw a fly on the property, c'mon guys). I did see a blue tongue lizard once too during construction of The Atomic Hideaway, thought it was a snake and juuuust about peed my pants. it was a real defining moment for me.
