All about Terry Lee’s place

We are just 20 minutes from Kearney, located one mile east of the Audubon Rowe Crane Sanctuary where the Sandhill Cranes stay during their annual Spring migration. The yurt sits directly under the flyway where the crane return to their roost every night and is the only accommodation in Nebraska where you can roll out of bed and witness the cranes fly over from your own private deck. The photography opportunities are extraordinary.

The space
Dancing Crane Yurt is a glamping experience that cannot be experienced anywhere else. A pellet stove (instructions provided) keeps guests warm and toasty. A small kitchenette allows for basic food preparation. A private bathroom in the yurt contains a composting toilet and a full size shower.

My favorite memory of growing up was spending a week at Camp L Keta every summer. Camping, swimming, canoeing, campfire, smore (Website hidden by Airbnb) loved it all. Now my one acre home is as close to Camp as possible--I'm a half mile from the Platte River and deer and wild turkeys trek through my yard everyday. And every March I live at the Apex of the Sandhill Crane migration. What an incredible experience! When not hanging out at Home. I teach writing at a local community college and I write. In the summer I like going to Blues Festivals. I garden and am interested in Sustainable Living. My life Motto: If you're not having fun, it's nobody's fault but your own.

During your stay

I live on the property, but out of sight unless I’m in the garden. I enjoy visiting when you check in and may occasionally check with you if I see you out and about, but most guests come for the peace and quiet.
