Far from noise and distraction. Surrounded by wilderness yet only four miles to the town of Woodstock. The house sits on 5 acres of private land. Sixty Cycle Music studio - also ours - shares the lot. Very private. Nearby stunning Cooper Lake and Mink Hollow hiking trail. Rustic architecture meets mid-century design. A napping hammock under a Noguchi lamp. Nooks with views for reading, writing and streaming.

The space
The cabin is a post and beam barn construction with open floor plan in a traditional Salt Box configuration. There are no nails, only joinery which provides the impressive scale of rough hewn timber posts and spacious feels throughout. The galley kitchen features a large marble countertop with enough room to make a feast while your friends watch in astonishment sipping a mezcal. The large dining room table comfortably seats eight and faces a large picture window looking out to nature. The living room has a super comfy large couch and two modern chairs that cozy up to an unbelievably warm Scandinavin wood stove. Catch up on your reading or napping. Both bedrooms are lofted upstairs, as is one bathroom. *Air Conditioning in bedrooms only! Tented canvas "walls" provide privacy. Please note: Although thick, the bedrooms are not as soundproof as walls. Suggested activities include: connecting with the outdoors while remaining in deep chill mode; laying on the couch and gazing outside at the big bluestone rock formation aka nature's tv; listening to records while making a meal and looking out for the cutest lil deer families at dusk; practicing warrior one pose in the seasonal porch or absolutely nothing. Be still. It's good for you!

Where you’ll be

Bearsville, New York, United States

The cabin is located on a private road in Lake Hill, a hamlet of the town of Woodstock located 4 miles away. Less than a 1/4 mile to stunning Cooper Lake and it's 3 mile paved/dirt loop as well as wooded trails. The Mink Hollow hiking trails are literally up the street from the cabin. A lot of hike options including the 14.2 mile Devil's Path.

If you need to head out for any provisions, head towards Woodstock and stop at The Cub Market in Bearsville, located on Route 212 just before it meets Wittenberg Rd. It's a bodega in Woodstock! The owners Allison and Frederick have what you need plus Belgian Trappist Ales you didn't know you wanted. The sandwiches and prepared foods are delicious.

To the West along Route 212 (about 6 miles) you will find The Pines, a Catskill's bar, restaurant and lodge owned by the wonderful Jeremy Bernstein. They are open most nights for dinner and frequently feature live music. Weekend brunch is not to be missed for so many reasons, chief among them being baker Craig's Chubby Squirrel pastries. A marriage of coffee cake and apple turnover that you'll dream of often.

Woodstock has a lot to offer. Shops including D-Day, walks on the Comeau Property, a hike up Overlook Mt. , bbq at Dixon Roadside, local trout salad at the Red Onion...we have lots to recommend!
