Restored croft house, on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands, situated in a little bay, only yards from its pebble beach and slipway. Ideal for nature lovers, hill walkers, wild swimmers and beachcombers or for taking in the ever-changing views.

The space

Bunavullin is a small crofting community in Drimnin, situated at the end of the road from Lochaline, in an area of old woodlands. An Camas is an attractive end terraced cottage, sleeping six, sitting right on Bunavullin Bay in a grassy garden, with slipway to the shore at the front. It overlooks the Sound Of Mull, with Ben More in the distance. It is a magical place.

There is abundant wildlife with regular sightings of otters, pine martens, deer, wildcats and sea eagles, sometimes even seen from the house. It’s a wonderful place for watching birds and there is a wide variety of wildflowers and lichen. There are also lots of passing boats to watch going up and down the Sound.

Our three bedroom cottage has two double bedrooms upstairs (one can be made into twin) and a shower room, with another double bedroom and shower room downstairs. There is a spacious but cosy sitting room with a wood burner, tv for DVDs (no tv signal), i-pod speakers and radio. Dining kitchen with Aga (winter only), dish washer and fridge. Wide hallway. Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge freezer. Grassy unenclosed garden at the back and garden leading onto the pebble beach at the front. Garden furniture. Parking for two cars. Fantastic views.

What a stunning little cottage in a stunning location! We planned on using this cottage as a base for exploring Mull, but loved the peacefulness of the area and the cosy cottage so much that we didn't end up getting to Mull. The house is beautiful, with postcard views out your kitchen or bedroom window! Everything you could need for a comfortable stay is provided and more! You're sure not to be cold either if the Aga is going :) The walks suggested in the little 'welcome pack' are lovely too - well worth the walk to the deserted Aulison village. We simply could not fault this gem; we didn't want to leave!

Gill's house is incredible! We were looking for a place that was a little more secluded with beautiful scenery and that's exactly what we got. The house is a good base to explore the surrounding area either by walking or by car. The house is beautiful and well equipped with everything we needed. I would highly recommend Gill's cottage to anyone looking to explore this area of Scotland.

This is a fabulous, comfortable and cosy cottage, where you can wake to the gentle sound of waves lapping on the shore. The Aga and wood burning stove make it toasty warm and it is beautifully furnished and very well equipped. It is a wonderful place just to relax in if the weather keeps you indoors. We could not recommend it more highly.

Our trip was amazing, from the puffins on Staffa to Tobermory and Calgary Bay, it was a great trip but what made it even more special was coming back each night to such a wonderful cottage. it really is a perfect place. The kids were thrilled with their room at the top of the house, my daughter loved drawing at the desk on the landing, and after a few nips we even got out the Guitar. I can't thank Gill enough!

An Camas is a wonderful hideaway to relax, recharge and enjoy an amazing ly beautiful part of Scotland. We had car trouble but could not have been stranded in a better place. Directions were spot on and the house is very well equipped and homely. No regrets at all! Just wish we could have stayed longer.

I'm a printmaker from Edinburgh; I make lithographs mostly about remote places. I like visiting art galleries, I like surprising things, I like to eat good food, I like walking and I especially like being by the sea in Morvern.
