The space
The Tiny Bunker was designed and built with the vision for simple yet comfortable living that supports a deep connection with nature and a smaller footprint on the planet. The meticulously designed 160 square foot Tiny Bunker makes use of every inch and lacks for nothing.

With the small interior footprint, the majority of the space is dedicated to two truly magical outdoor areas. The outdoor main deck is equipped with a hot tub, dining area, fire pit, and seating area to relax and enjoy nature in. The second deck brings you even further among the trees, accentuating the winter views of the mountains. Read a good book, take a nap, or enjoy the view of the trees while relaxing on the outdoor patio furniture on the second deck. You can expect to see birds, deer, and other wildlife about while you enjoy the outdoors.

The Tiny Bunker itself was built with all the essentials and packaged into a cozy, comfortable, and retreat-like space. With an emphasis on sustainability, the Cabin is powered from the nearby community solar garden and guests can reduce waste by recycling and composting on the property. Tall ceilings, well equipped kitchen, unique high end bathroom, convertible working/dining area, and a comfy sleeping space with cozy sheets are a few of the features. Log in to your video streaming accounts and enjoy a movie while relaxing after a day of exploring. A complete coffee and tea bar, along with luxury shampoos/soaps are just a few of the other amenities provided.

Whatever you’re in the mood for, you will find it nearby. Historic downtown Todd is only a 10-minute drive, where you will find live music in the summer, the famous Todd Mercantile, and locals and tourists hanging out. RiverGirl Fishing Company and the New River are also located in downtown Todd and offer fishing, biking, kayaking, and tubing. Just a 17-minute drive from the cabin is Elk Knob State Park with miles of hiking, biking, jogging, exploring, and a stunning view at the top. Appalachian Ski Mtn, the Blue Ridge Parkway, ziplining, golfing, hunting, and countless hiking trails are within 30 minutes of the property. Grandfather Mountain, many more hiking trails and countless wineries are within an hour's drive. It really is the best of both worlds with city life and nature readily accessible.

Tiny Escapes was founded in 2018 by wife and husband co-founders, Bryanna and Stanley, with a vision of curating uniquely elevated tiny vacation home rental experiences. Our mission is to create one-of-a-kind nature immersion experiences for the adventurous individual that support a deep connection with nature and a smaller footprint on the planet. To date, we have designed, built, and shared 5 unique tiny homes and have plans for several more in the future!

The idea of Tiny Escapes was initially sparked in 2017 after we experienced tiny living for the first time. We built our custom 128 sq. ft. tiny abode with the help of HGTV featured builder, Randy Jones of Incredible Tiny Homes. After 8 months in the gorgeous tiny space, we were thoroughly sold on the benefits of tiny living. We all but eliminated our bills, spent less time on cleaning and maintenance (as with larger homes), and more time on the simple things like walks in nature and enjoying each other's company. We also loved that this lifestyle allowed us to reduce our carbon footprint, something that we both felt passionate about.

After careful reflection, we decided to escape the corporate grind once and for all to live a more intentional life by downsizing in material things and upsizing our quality of life. We relocated to the gorgeous mountains of Western North Carolina with the intention of creating a unique tiny vacation home rental business, which would soon be dubbed Tiny Escapes.

Since then, we have hosted over 600 happy guests and have been featured in countless media outlets, most recently on A&E's show, Living Smaller (episodes 1 & 8).
